My delightful government has abolished milk, privatised firms that then went down the crapper, made it illegal to be within 5 miles of 'a gathering' playing 'repetitive music', has the ability to burn down your house and bill you for doing it, arrest you for not practising archery, changed TMNT to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, wishes to ban all drugs yet still uses them within their chambers and make Blofeld look like an amateur.

No, not really. I know that the American government is up to all kinds of dirty shit. But I could live in China, so what am I bitching about really, right?

I think most people are taking this in the wrong context.

I trust my government because I trust that the people who wrote out The Constitution wanted the best for this country.

That being said, I don't trust anyone who works for said government; most of them seem to have their own agenda.

This is a good clarification and I second it.

I refuse to answer due to the fact that my response could be traced back to me (looks round paranoidly). Does that answer the question?

Dude, where are you from? I thought this country was taking a turn for the worse (America for the record).

My mistrust towards the British Government is because of the fact it seems they make most of their decisions by shouting at eachother in the House of Commons... sometimes if we're very lucky there may be a fist fight :S

Sounds fun, but when u watch you'll think "wow, so our county is ran like this?"

I have actually seen videos of fist fights in government chambers in several countries in Asia on the TV show Maximum Exposure. It was funny to see elected officials kicking each others asses.

Ever since the FRA law [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRA_law] was passed, my respect and trust for the government has been nil. Can't see why I should trust them when they have violated my civil rights like that, and for no reason at all. They obviously don't trust me, why should I trust them?

Not particularly, especially seeing as one of the parties currently in government is the closet-fascists(EDIT: not the actual name of the party).

I have no problem with my government. I may not agree with all their decisions, but I can always understand the reasoning behind them. Canadian for the record.

Of course I do. If you can't trust liars, thieves, and backstabbers, who can you trust?

It's really fascinating that since America was founded, someone's always been saying, "Oh geez, our country is going down the crapper, we're screwed in 20 more years," and yet, here we still are. Take a look at some of our policies from the 'better' years of the U.S.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedition_Act_of_1918
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prohibition_in_the_United_States
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_American_internment
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overseas_expansion_of_the_United_States

Wow, our country was SO much better back then!
