No. I have no love or trust for the government, though I know it is better then others (China, for example). Still, if the USA falls, well, Vermont is right up against Canada.

The Tories sat in government between 1983 (I think) and 1997.
Largely blamed for the recession that hit in the early 90's and the Poll Tax that ravaged Scotland as well as de-nationalising our industries and leaving us to the wrath of the Gas/Electric and Transport companies that we face today.
So no, they didn't do much better, but right now, I'd pick them over labour, I don't trust Boris Johnson or David Cameron but if I was given the choice to put them in power right now, I'd take that chance.
Frankly, we're screwed either way so what harm is there in trying.
Boris is hilarious though, he has that air of the absurd about him. That time he was wittering on about the origins of ping-pong and how it was called Wiff-Waff or something at the Olympics ceremonies. Best was when he said; "The French saw a table... and they had dinner." WTF?! XD

The irony of the wiff-waff story is that it's true.
We did call it wiff-waff...

Though, I do rather wish dear Boris hadn't decided to tell the world that.

Hold on a second, the guy actually makes some pretty valid observations
What are you talking about?
He was overly verbose about the same shit right-wing talkshow hosts always spout.

isn't the free exchange of ideas and the capacity to have your views and beliefs appreciated in open discusion supposed to be the point of forums?
The free exchange of ideas includes the reciprocating idea that your original idea was stupid.

What I'm trying to say here is, even if you openly disagree with what someone says, come up with a valid reason why
It's self-contradictory, it's opinion, it's silly.
I plead self-evident your honor.

Do I trust the structure of government in my country? (Mostly) Yes.
Do I trust the elected officials? No.

Currently we have the biggest shower of incompetents filling most ministerial positions here in Ireland.

I think most people are taking this in the wrong context.

I trust my government because I trust that the people who wrote out The Constitution wanted the best for this country.

That being said, I don't trust anyone who works for said government; most of them seem to have their own agenda.
This is a good clarification and I second it.
I thirded and yes ive never thought of it like that
