I've been watching a lot of anime since mid-way through high school, so around twenty years or so. I have around 300gb of it on my media server, and dozens of DVDs around the house. What? No, I don't have a problem...

Anime is one of those things I find it hard to have any appreciation for. The stylistic shorthand that makes anime recognizable as such is so formulaic in ways that all the visual interest is stripped away for me and is very unappealing. I find the cutesy/humorous stuff annoying as balls, and the "mature" recommendations have this juvenile feel to them.

I remember it getting really popular with the nerdy kids I knew around the time I graduated from high school, and I'd be lying if I said the obsessive way people go on about it didn't turn me away from the idea of anime a little more than the cartoons did on their own. Maybe you just have to grow up with it, I dunno.

I watch a lot.
Mainly because I like the stories, characters and settings of places.
Ofcourse there are really many same kind of anime series and clichéd once as well.
But nevertheless I still continue watching them. ^^
Yup pretty much my response there.

I sort of have an anime addiction. I don't watch new animes often, but I rewatched my favorite ones about 50 times over. I'm listening to one of them again right now in fact.

I took "like Anime , but dislike the rest." It's not just one series, I like a few, but most of what I've seen (which is probably the better part of anime, since I only try stuff several people have recommended) isn't to my liking. Especially if the anime applies what I call lazy animation (leaving out faces, doing one-colour backgrounds, still-frame characters moving across the screen) or suddenly turns the style weird (chibi characters, overexaggerated facial expressions), I'm pretty much instantly turned off. I never could stomach Full metal Alchemist, as an example, despite the more or less interesting looking settings and characters.

Of course, around here, when I was in High School, there was no Fantasy or SciFi of any kind on TV (ever. Perhaps one Scifi-ish action movie per month, if you were lucky), there were no SciFi or Fantasy comics (at least not for people older than about 12), basically the entire Fantasy/SciFi entertainment I had was books (and I still love books. I read a few hundred pages per week). So, when my even nerdier friend came to me with subtitled anime off the internet, it was a revelation. "My god, there is non-written SciFi out there".

Does Advent Children count? If so, that is the only thing I can watch, and that is because it is Final Fantasy.

I watch anime and read manga. I tend to avoid the filler arcs because they generally suck. Reading manga and watching anime is one of my favourite past times.

No, I don't. "Liking anime" implies I'll like everything just because it's anime.
I like some anime that are good. Just like I like some western cartoons that are good, and some games that are good. I don't like the medium, I like what people do within it.

It's just another way to tell stories, like any form of media.
This, with the addition that I prefer anime to western cartoons

I spend way to much time watching anime to the point it almost seems unhealthy. My friends have a hard time recommending an anime that I haven't seen.

Yeah, I watch some shows - Higurashi, Spice & Wolf, Baccano!, Monster etc. - though it's getting hard to find good new ones.

The general individualist anti-conformity messages in a fair few of them, on account of Japanese society being all about conformity, strikes a chord with me I suppose. And some of it is just too hilariously absurd to not appreciate.

It makes me nauseous by and large. There are a few, particularly the less-drama-more-giant-robots ones that I'm okay with and can tolerate in small doses but for the most part, Anime's not my thing.

I like anime, but not as much as I used to. The last anime I watched was FLCL this weekend just gone. I liked FLCL and Death Note, but they are pretty much the only anime's I watch nowadays, and even thats not often anymore.

I love anime, i dislike the really long ones though. Like bleach, one piece, and naruto. The fact that it has over 150 episodes makes it feel like an elitist club. And hey get away from the main issues. I thoroughly enjoyed death note, darker than black, and now I'm watching code grass and it's awesome
