Poll: Do you watch Let's Plays?

YES. WATCH THIS. It has the best ending to a Let's Play. Even more funnier than the Spoony One's.

I've been watching Let's Plays only recently know, but my favourite, and the ones I try to watch for now are the Sonic the Hedgehog ones by Pokecapn, Medibot, and KungFuJesus. The Sonic 2006 one was hilarious as they slowly lose their sanity from playing the game nonstop. And the Sonic Unleashed one is just hilarious because of Medibot's commentary.

I saw part of one on youtube, but I didn't make it past the opening because the inane commentary was just too much to handle. I really hate to seem critical, but listening to this almost monotone player speaking improvised commentary over the game made it totally unwatchable.

So many finished LP's here you should check them out. As for me I watch Chuggaaconrory and Spoony along with whatever catches my eye in the link above.

I love to watch HcBailys he keeps it funny and is doing all the games I play.

I watch a couple, my favourite one has to be Spoony's one for SWAT 4, it's hilarious how irritated he gets by it.

Other than that, I'll watch maybe one or two, but that's the only one that comes to mind.

Anyway OT:

I watch plenty of LP, but rather, the ones i watch are called How To Succsesfully FAIL (HTSF's).

I've watched a bit of Silent Hill 2 let's play. I had a problem with a puzzle that took me a day and I still couldn't figure it out.

Other than that, I never understood why people think Spoony is funny. He just gets on my nerves.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who watches LP's around here. Often times, if I'm short on cash or not interested enough to pay for a game, I'll hunt down a Let's Play of it to see if I'm missing anything.

For those of you that somehow have never heard of LP's, they're basically someone walking you through the game, playing it from beginning to end, often with running commentary from the person running the LP. Some LPers are becoming somewhat notable on Youtube, like Deceasedcrab and NintendoCapriSun, among many, many others. They can run the gamut from hilarious to informative, and I've lost many hours to them.

So, if you watch LP's, who are some of your favorites and why?

If you haven't, maybe you can get a few suggestions for some good ones from here. ^_^

I love LP's and I am seriously considering making my own this summer. NintendoCapriSun, Raikourider, Chuggaconroy, HCBailly and Gorfinhofin are great LPers and I recommend any of their LP's to those who are interested. For those who are interested in pure gameplay with little or no commentary, check out Machinama's channel. I'd advertise for my self but I think that is an escapist Faux pas....

Now, I enjoy NintendoCapriSun because he plays multiple types of games and is hilarious, Raikourider because he has great taste and he plays 100% completion for all his LP's (I think), Chuggaconroy because he is funny and really makes it easy to understand a game, HCBailly because he does RPG's and Gorfinhofin because his voice and sense of humor.

I call them "walkthroughs". I've never heard "let's play" before.

I tend to think of walkthroughs as purely text based instructions, like found on gameFAQs. These are LP's because, well, you're kinda playing them alongside someone....without actually playing.

The Left 4 Dead LP by the SA crew is fast becoming my favorite Let's Play that isn't a part of Retsupurae.

So yes.

It's a nice way to see what all happens in old games I never played, like Mario 64.

Yeah I like Lets Plays when they are actually decent, I have seena good Swat4 one and a good hitman one amongst others.

Depends whether the guy commentating is likeable and entertaining.
I wont watch em if he's a dickhead, a little kid, or a guy with a monotone voice that does nothing to interest people whatsoever.

Watching a Timesplitters playthrough off and on atm.
Never played the game and figured it would be the closest thing to playing through it myself.

Oh, that's one I'll have to look up. I too haven't had the pleasure of playing this much touted game.
