That ad was creepy. But I have the telly on in the background and right at the end I heard, "Kellogs crunchy nut..." made me laugh. Bathos ftw.

I always wear a seatbelt. I don't trust anyone to drive me and when I'm in a taxi, I sit in the back with my seatbelt on and holding onto the door because I don't like taxi drivers.

It doesn't even cross my mind, I do it automatically. As soon as I get in I automatically put on my seatbelt and check my mirrors and blind spot, even on my street which I never need to check on.

I occasionally let it slip when I'm a passenger while driving with someone I completely trust. If I'm driving or a passenger in a friend's car then I'll always wear one.
I'm not trying to take the moral high grounds here but even if you trust somebody completely and don't wear a seatbelt, I sure as hell still wouldn't trust all the other drivers in the traffic around me. Therefore, wearing the seatbelt all the time is a must for me.

There is an advert making the rounds in the UK, which shows the dangers of wearing a seatbelt. If you hit something, your body stops, but your internal organs keep moving forward, and slam into your ribcage (or whatever). If you don't wear a seatbelt, you have more time to slow down before your body actually stops, so the UKs "wear a seatbelt" campaign has made me think twice about putting one on.
This one you mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq9OLd-XtHE

Yes but it's not a conscious decision it is purely instinct.

My car is old, and it has a belt that comes across you when the door closes. It's really just for looks, and the lap belt is broken.

Sure do. I can see no reason for me not to wear one. My mother's friend's daughter was in a car crash without a seatbelt and is now paralyzed from the chest down. Ever since wearing seatbelts became the law there has been a drastic reduction in injuries.

Always, why wouldn't you?

My opinion, people who don't deserve exactly what they get.

That said, I don't think there should be a law DEMANDING that you wear one, or helmets for bikes. Personal responsibility people, catch it!

Yes, I'm sure it saves lives, and besides, we get fined for not wearing it. 500GBP, or 60GBP for a fixed penalty fine. As a driver we must also ensure everyone else in the car is wearing a seatbelt.

Yes, all the time. It has always been mandatory for as far as I've been alive in my country.

I have my doubts that my body would survive being in a mash-up of metal traveling at 50 miles per hour. So yeah, I do.

EDIT: First post on the third page! Woo!

It is there for safety. So of course I will make use of it.
"Better safe than sorry" < I practically live by that saying, most of the time. kinda.
So ja, I always wear the seatbelt.
I wish more people would live by that saying, or at least give it a though every now and then.

OT: All the time, iv seen enough people who have died or been seriously hurt just because they didn't wear their seatbelt.

Always. You can get fined for not wearing it and it's not really that big of an inconvinience anyways

Of course...I guess I have reason not too as if my Granddad was wearing his seatbelt, he would've died during a car crash, but eh, cars are sturdier now.

if you're in my car, you go by my rules.

Rule 1) is don't touch the music unless I say you can.

Rule 2) is Belt On or Walk On. Your call.
