There is not a single game from EA that i like. If that is not a reason to not like EA, then i don't know what is.

I never really was bothered by EA, but now with their ad campaign for Dante's Inferno (which I think is one of the most creative, out of the box styles ever) they've made me like them more.

I don't rally pay attention to companies so much as the games themselves. Whether I like EA does not constitute as the deciding factor as to whether or not I will buy something. Also EA does not make alot of these games, they just sponsor them.

The 3 reasons EA have previously been hated are a) They release the same sports game every year with a new number, b) they took over smaller, successful companies (Westwood, Bullfrog) and sucked the soul out of the IPs and c) The Sims. In the past few years though they've really been upping their game (no pun intended) with their publishing of original games and they've even come close to apologising for their past behavior.

While I wouldn't say I've ever loved or hated EA (they made business decisions. Some good, some bad) I am glad they are using the piles of cash their 2 cash cows bring in to get more unique games onto the market.

I kind of tolerate them now, mainly because they are coming out with new stuff, but they're still tainted by their association with the endless sports game clones which were the original reason of my hate. However, I'm dangerously close to liking them a tiny bit after reading about what they did to Ben Croshaw...

Certainly not love (I only love Shiny things like Looking Glasses), but EA certainly surprised me with a number of nice titles I didn't expect.
Hell, I still play Battle For Middle-Earth (1, 2 and its addon) every once in a while because killing Uruk'Hai and whatnot is so addictive.

They make sports games. Which are the only game genre I have never liked a game from.
That doesn't seem like a valid excuse for all the hatred and bile EA has been the target of.
http://www.igtfy.com/?q=EA+games+limits+product+keys they are product key nazis and punish their customers in order to "stop piracy" along with lacing everything they have with buckets of DRM. theyre just really bad devs IMO i still hate them theyre still evil.

EA definitely seems like a friendlier company. They still push out the same sports games every year, but all their new IPs like Dante's Inferno and Mirror's Edge show that they aren't afraid of taking risks.

They definitely aren't as bad as Activision has become. I swear if I didn't know better, I'd think Bobby Kotick was trying to make people hate his company.

I love EA as a publisher - Bad Company, Rock Band, future Mass Effect titles (drool), etc., but for their sports games they are just as evil as Activision, pumping out sequels with little/no enhancement whatsoever. I used to hate EA entirely, but as long as they're showering GOOD developers with capital, then they're OK by me.

I knew about that. Though I hardly found that a reason to call them a terrible company.

EA is the lesser of two gigantic evil super-powers.

I'll say this - Riccitiello is definitely not the Lex Luthor-like figure that Kottick is.

Don't get me wrong, Riccitiello is evil, and is fucking crazy as a bronze kite.. but He's definitely the small kid on the bus when it comes to supervillainy.
