I hope they and the other conglomerates crumble and bring on another video game crash so more, smaller developers bring about another golden age of gaming from the ashes like we had in the 90's.

I'm tired of gimmicky hybrid genres that try to appeal to more gamers but the many elements are mediocre rather than focusing on one and making it great, and companies making graphics engines mired in framerate issues with generic games attached as an afterthought

No I never hated EA and failed to see a reason to, maybe to older gamers back in the 90s but in 2000 they seem fine. They have been helping produce a lot of interesting and dynamic games as of late. But people seem here to hate EA with no reason so please be more explainatory in your answers for no. Other then just because I don't like their games, so what if I hate a companies games or product I have to hate them? No.

The Rickroll was great. Anyways I think Activision is really becomeing the Evil corporation to fear, Blizzard just masks that evil. Like come on DJ hero, Gutair Hero what 6 now? and all those other dragged through the dirt bullshit, don't be Nintendo, they I think are the most lazy and somewhat evil company they just rehash the same old crap.

As a publisher they earn alot of respect from me thanks to them we actualy have titles like Brutal Legend coming out when Activision was trying to sell them short. Aslong as they dont slip back into there DRM ways I'm on good terms, Activision suck balls though.

Why did people hate EA in the first place?
People used to hate EA because all they did was fart out a new Madden, FIFA ect. every year without a hint of originality.

Well I wouldn't say love. There still the ones punching out the Madden Franchises. To be honest I never hated EA. I found there games enjoyably and Army of Two was a decent game to play with my brother. I don't love them, but I certainly don't hate them.

I love EA as a publisher - Bad Company, Rock Band, future Mass Effect titles (drool), etc., but for their sports games they are just as evil as Activision, pumping out sequels with little/no enhancement whatsoever. I used to hate EA entirely, but as long as they're showering GOOD developers with capital, then they're OK by me.
^That^

As long as they don't interfere w/ Bioware's work I don't care what EA does.

OHHH, I thought you meant because they rickrolled Yahtzee, that's quite a good reason to love them.

Back in the day they were well known for fucking up classics like Ultima by forcing their own vision onto the developers and then rushing out a buggy product. More recently they have admitted this was a mistake and have shown they are willing to let developers do what they want and wait until the game is finished. They've allowed Bioware to largely do as they please and they've earned my love again for the new Command & Conquer and Red Alert games.

so they released mirror's edge and suddenly they're innovative?
No he didn't say they were innovative he's trying all to say that they aren't milking every penny out of their franchise of games like activison they are at least releasing fresh games once in a while.

I used to hate them because of the whole DRM fiasco, but since they've said they're scrapping that, and also because they still see potential in the PC platform as well as the rickroll stunt, they are becoming much better.

Activision could really learn a thing or two from them, judging by the way things have been going recently.

I used to hate them, but they are sure as heck improving, so my vote is 50/50. I guess I can't quite blame them for churning out more Battlefield games as long as people seem perfectly willing to play them. And they've funded some nice innovative games (sure they didn't MAKE them, but as a big guy in a suit your other big-guy-suit friends are normally a bit annoyed that you didn't tap into Reliable Money Stream #57). Right now, Activision are a bit more of the obvious evil guys.

Not really, and I think you could probably have got all the answers you needed from that other thread. You know the one I mean. Anyway, EA still pisses me off, they still spawn crap like spore, the sims, Medal of honour, sports game sequels every year (although apparently fifa 10 doesn't suck and other stuff. This isn't to say the don't publish good games, it's just the majority is shit. In my humble opinion. Also how does rick-rolling someone make them awesome?
