Poll: Does anyone remember the first time they ever played doom

All is forgiven for loving that unrated classic, i assume then you also played Shadow Warrior?

Maybe, I played a lot of games back then.

I don't seem to recall though...

It was a 3d Realms Game. Duke with a ninja twist.

It was an exciting time for pc gamers, console as well i guess, but ill never turn my back on my Pc years...

Mm, true that. I'll never forget them.

Best years of my otherwise dull beginning.

I still remember the opening music from 'Simon the sorcerer 2'

i got it as ring tone in the end...

Oh my God, Simon the Socerer, I used to play those games religiously. The 3D ones are so fail though... Keep it 2D people!

OMG, i bought simon the sorcerer 3d in pound land, thought i was going to die of excitment..then i played it. What a waste of a pound. the end of STS 2 was just classic, its up there with the end of Monkey island 2. Unforgettable.

God i loved doom, played it with my cuzin, i remember picking up the chaingun for the first time...as for what i prefer, i love doom and duke 3d equally, whereas doom was more serious a game duke had its comedy moment, plus the freeze gun and the shrink gum were awesome

First time I played DOOM wasn't that long ago actually. Someone uploaded the demo to Newgrounds. Found in surprisingly fun, especially considering I'm usually not one for retro games.

i found the chaingun and MegaSphere after watching someone get it on GAMESMASTER. I can rememeber how long i spent walking up to walls and hammering spacebar. Ungh Ungh Ungh Where is it? Ugnh!

Oh yeah I remember Doom. It was lunch time at my secondary school, and we were in the science classroom with the only computer there. I don't know who's game it was, or why it was there, but I got to play it. I was fairly green in the gaming world. You couls actually say I wasn't in the gaming world. After playing Doom for 5 minutes I realized the possibilities... I was overwhelmed by the gameplay mechanics and the graphics (which back then were very good).
I still play Doom on random occasions nowadays.

Played it last month on my PSP's emulator.
It... well I didn't like it. At a distance everything was just a mess of pixels and every location looked the same. Still, it's an old title so I suppose it hasn't aged that well. I hear the second one has done better.
