I'm certainly not offended by it, though I must say, I really don't like the show at all. I love Family Guy, and that's in the same ballpark in terms of "offensiveness" -- South Park just isn't that funny in comparison. None of their jokes are particularly clever. From the admittedly few episodes I've seen, it seems like it's just bashing a person (or religious group, race, etc) for totally nonsensical reasons. Family Guy is funny because it's true. I guess it's all a matter of taste, though.
It has not offended me and never will. It's just a good show with some pretty humorous scenes (not HAW HAW HAW funny, though) and clever writing. It attempts to offend tons of people, but that's a good thing. Sometimes the world just needs a minor evil to be just a bit more united.
i wish this show would be even more popular. but i think the same with the daily show with jon stewart and the colbert report.
The fact that it is offenseive to someone, somewhere, sometime is what makes it awesome. They make fun of evrybody and spare no one from humiliation. Fucking love it!!
I find it like any of the funny stuff. I don't take it for real. Man people are getting way to soft.
The only thing they failed to do is they'll show every religious figure but Muhammed. Quit letting people get off easy, offend them too. Nothing in the show offends me because I don't take offense at anything but political correctness. I do wish they would at least badly injure Cartmanm worse then when Wendy beat the ever loving crap out of him.
That's not as clever as you may think, especially considering someone else has said it in this thread already. I specifically mentioned that it's all about taste. I didn't make fun of South Park, I just don't like it. I also don't like vanilla ice cream so much. Does that offend you too? I'm not trying to change your mind about anything. I was not amused with the way they portrayed Al Gore. Al Gore is a great man who has brought global attention to catastrophic global warming, and those 1/10 wits had the audacity to make him out to be an attention seeking child who runs around with a cape. Funny, but not amusing. -> (I don't want the exact perfect use of words police on me, so if you are a member, I don't care about what you think)
They are amusing people who large numbers of people watch, yet they devout their energy to getting completely off topic when it comes to global warming. No one will give a shit about "smug" in 100 years, especially in the developing world, which will not be able to develop because all their glaciers melted thanks to people wasting electricity watching their shitty television show. They are offensive in bad ways. They're just American rednecks with slightly above average intellect, for the most part. It has been shown that there is no relation between intelligence and humour, none at all, keep that in mind when you watch it. They didn't have a very bad thing on global warming with the lice episode, but with all the insults they level at a couple celebrities, they should have the balls to also level insults at everyone. Absolutely everyone who uses energy, which releases greenhosue gases. But that wouldn't be "cool."
