It doesn't offend me, though I don't find it as funny as others do. Sometimes it can be brilliant, while other times it fails to amuse me.

Metalocalypse is better, I think.

Yeah South Park is hilarious, but sometimes it hits an un-funny nerve.
But usually it's awesome.

I was not amused with the way they portrayed Al Gore. Al Gore is a great man who has brought global attention to catastrophic global warming, and those 1/10 wits had the audacity to make him out to be an attention seeking child who runs around with a cape. Funny, but not amusing. -> (I don't want the exact perfect use of words police on me, so if you are a member, I don't care about what you think)
They are amusing people who large numbers of people watch, yet they devout their energy to getting completely off topic when it comes to global warming. No one will give a shit about "smug" in 100 years, especially in the developing world, which will not be able to develop because all their glaciers melted thanks to people wasting electricity watching their shitty television show. They are offensive in bad ways. They're just American rednecks with slightly above average intellect, for the most part. It has been shown that there is no relation between intelligence and humour, none at all, keep that in mind when you watch it. They didn't have a very bad thing on global warming with the lice episode, but with all the insults they level at a couple celebrities, they should have the balls to also level insults at everyone. Absolutely everyone who uses energy, which releases greenhosue gases. But that wouldn't be "cool."
...are you super cereal?
But yeah, I sort of agree. Though they're a bit better than what you just described them as.
They may act as a medium for the most base and immature humor, but it's funny, and if you dig past all the crap you just mentioned, there is some truth and morality in their message.
I think they're really just mocking the sense people get when the buy a hybrid, "I'm saving the environment,
I'm better than you."
Which is bullcrap.

absolutely brilliant show, up in the top 3 with The Simpsons (just cuz it was the original cartoon family) and Family Guy
South Park is deffinitly number 1 out those 3 though
I never get offended by anything they have said but saying that I am a non-religious white guy so It's hard for them to poke fun at me specifically, unless they start making jokes about australians, but then again they love making fun of Steve Irwin, and the Terrance and Phillip movie trailer episode with "Fightin Round the World: With Russell Crowe", but they were direct attacks on those people not Australians, so i'm cool with it

Are you fucking kidding me?
They portrayed Al Gore as a hero!
Who else would stand up to Manbearpig?
You? Me? No.
None of us. Because we were all too busy thinking he didn't exist.
But leave it to good ol' Gore, steppin' up and fighting for us.

You may think that Al Gore is a great man, but there are many who would respectfully disagree.
Then, of course, people who would disrespectfully disagree.

First, I enjoy how you claim that their intellect is to be looked down upon, when you use terms such as "American rednecks". You stereotyped both Americans and southern people. Your use of intellect is groundbreaking, and completely different from the way you claim they use theirs.

Also, your intelligence would be a tad more influencial if you didn't put something like "I don't want the exact perfect use of words police on me". It makes it really hard to consider your argument as valid with something like that.

And lastly, the "insult everyone that uses energy." If they made episodes about insulting Joe Everyman and Ronald Faisless, then no one would find it amusing. We need figureheads to laugh at if we're going to bother watching their program.

But of course, I feel the need to point out that: South Park is a show. On the Comedy Network. It's meant to be trivial.

Bias is not your friend.

I don't understand when something on the Tv or any media makes negitive or steryotipical statements of a group of people, people take offence to it. I think maybe people say it offends them because other people say it should be offencive.
If somone said "All men are idiots, white people suck or people who use the internet have no lives." I am not going to start raising my fist at them and cry about it.

I guess some people are just sensitive.

I know some bits people get offended by like the naked little boys on a leash held by the Priests and the Steve Irwin jokes but I find it hilarious. Every single episode besides all the latest episodes are brilliant, not one I can think of that isn't great.

I said American rednecks, as in those people who specifically fall into the category of redneck, who are American. I said nothing about "the south" at all, nor anything about Americans in general. Nor did I say anything about being an intellectual or caring about what you think of my intellect. Anyone who thinks global warming is some hoax cooked up by Al Gore to garner himself attention should be part of a global population reduction program. No loss at all. And American rednecks are the worst of all rednecks. As for the terrors of ManBearPig, they did make him out to be a complete idiot. As for these people you mentioned, I don't know who they are. I meant make fun of EVERYONE for using electricity, even you, the viewer. If they're so great, why can't they make it funny? Also, I didn't go over the top because they constantly make environmentalists out to be evil people. The first time they did it, the poor innocent child said that global warming is not caused by humans, and the evil environmentalists said whatever evil things such evil lovers say to small children, who don't love evil. Making environmentalists the bad guy at this point is evil itself. Frikken hell.

South Park is hilarious regardless of what the subject matter is. All South Park does is say what people think but are too scared to say themselves.

It is bullcrap, the part where you are saving the environment. You're still emittting when you drive a hybrid, and the car needed to be put together with lots of heat, you aren't great at all. If you ran and took the bus everywhere, you would have something to brag about. Also, most pollution comes from inside the house, not outside. That Kyle character was just as dumb as the rest of them when he said that Hybrids might "save the earth." There's no plan to actually cool down the world, if everyone drove hybrids, it would barely make a shit of difference.

This is not the thread to push your Global Warming agenda. Yes, it exists, we all know it. Don't cry because South Park made fun of it as they do with every other major issue.

The term redneck is often used to refer to people from the American south.
That is why you indirectly stereotyped Americans.
When you say "They're just American Rednecks", you're making a statement about what Americans are. The way you worded your sentance made it stereotype all Americans.
Replace the nationality with a skin colour.

"They're just black people with slightly above average intellects".

Boy oh boy, sure does seem like you're stereotyping now, doesn't it?

Again, you were writing your post as if you were an intellectual judging the intellects of others.
If you're not an intellectual, what gives you the right to judge others by your standards?
That's like me not being an artist and saying everything ever made is shit just because it doesn't meet my preferences.

Of course you don't care what I think of your intellect.
It's hard to care about something so little.

If I were you, I wouldn't be so excited about any 'global population reduction' program.
Of course Al Gore didn't manufacture the idea of Global Warming.
He's just the one who brought it to our attention with the most furor, so naturally people will point to him when discussing the matter.

And shit man, you really did not watch that episode, did you?
It wasn't made to make Al Gore look like a complete moron.
It was directed more at the way people reacted to the information.
In their eyes, he was some bumbling moron going on about something rediculous, like Manbearpig.
It was showing how people just laughed in his face, and thought he was insane.
And then Manbearpig actually showed up, proving the rest of them wrong.
And he was able to stop it.

Afterward, they painted him as such an idiot because:
A) That's just what South Park does. It's done it to everyone else, it can do it to him.
B) There are people who still won't take him seriously.

Oh, and those names I mentioned weren't anyone in particular. Look at the names: "Joe Everyman", and "Ronald Faisless (Faceless)". They were meant to represent "EVERYONE" who uses energy. Namely, people who you have never heard about. It's what I was saying. When they aim their jokes at figureheads, or important people, it makes it worth watching. No one would give a shit if they made an episode ripping at me.

To be honest, painting a portrait of environmentalists as "evil" isn't "evil", it's fair.
There are people who honestly believe that they are evil.
And your opinion on the matter is not more important than theirs is.

I don't find it offencive- but I don't particularly find it entertaining either. When I look for something to make me laugh I look for something that is funny that dousn't need to tap into the elementary school age of comedy.

I'm not crying, what they did was say that it isn't happening, if you want to say I'm crying over that, you can fight me. Then we'll see who's crying.
*edit*
Or we could play an online game together, because we are likely way to far off to actually meet each other in person.

And your opinion on the matter is not more important than theirs is.
If I have the opinion the Jews are equal to all other people, and someone else thinks they are sub-human, that's not opinion, I'm right and you're wrong. And I don't care if redneck stereotypes the south of the U.S., I really don't. I said nothing of the sort, and when I said redneck, I meant the people who are completely brainless twits. Also, with most climatoligists in a state of total panic, thinking environmentalists are evil, who want you to stop making it even worse, is incredibly evil. We're looking at nuclear war between India and Pakistan, nuclear war between Northern and Southern Europe, huge strife in China, hundreds of millions of environmental refugees, huge parts of the world made uninhabitable, and the possibility of making earth another lifeless rock, despite the incomprehensible amount of life on earth. But that's just the opinion of the experts, you're completely uninformed mind is entitled to one as well, and if it's butt-fuck wrong, it's equal to one that's right. Why do you take everything and put it into the realm of opinion? Some things are right, some things are wrong. There is an area where anything goes, where things are just a matter of personal preference, but that is limited to ones favourite food and movie. All important things have truth. If you think global warming is caused by the sun getting hotter, you're wrong, because the sun hasn't been getting hotter.
