at first it looked like he(the kid) was sitting on open air, other than that I didn't even notice the pink nail polish, just like any true man would.

Hell yeah there is! That kid looks like he is about to fall out of that chair! Totally unsafe! Horrible parenting!

What does pink have to do with sexuality anyways? It is true that it is generally considered a female colour, but I have seen many males wearing pink who were in no way homosexual.
Pink is a colour, not an idea or statement, just a colour.
Hell, tell that to the people bitching about the article.

Interestingly, in the olde-timey days (18th -19th century? not sure) pink used to be the colour for MANLY MEN, and blue used to be a girls colour. On the basis that blue was calmer I think. Or maybe something to do with the sea.
Can't be the sea, because everyone who has read their Hemingway knows that the sea is for manly men!

Its controversial if only for trying so hard to defy social norms for some controversial publicity.

i don't see what all the fuss is about
kid is not conforming to gender roles
so what
I think the what some people found offensive was not that the kid wasn't conforming to Gender roles, but rather that the mom was forcing it on the son? If that makes sense?
What do you mean forcing it on the son? He seems perfectly fine with it to me.

OH SHIT HE MIGHT CATCH "THE GAY"!!!!!1!

Honestly, the kid's having fun. Don't piss on his parade. It's not like he's old enough to even have a sexual orientation or anything anyway.

EDIT: And yes, that kid is totally an Autumn and should use darker shades, duh.

I see a photo of a mother and son having fun.

Looks okay to me.

TBH: I didn't even notice the painted toenails until you told me. So, no. This isn't offensive. And may I say, in RL, I point out offensive stuff REAL quick.

It's controversial the woman is clearly a witch, making her child float in mid-air.

Of course this is offensive, if it's his mom, then why isn't she in the kitchen making sandwiches?

While I agree with you, see my later posts.

Besides the first impression "holy shit is she about to kiss that kid?!" no not really
Exactly my first thought.

More importantly since when were stripes gay? Who in God's name makes all these rules about what is gay and why is it that people who are most knowledgable about (and obsessed with) these rules are all straight?
Horizontal Stripes:

Look attractive on women

Are slimming

Skinny men that are wearing clothes that could look good on a member of the opposite sex if the clothing were built for a body type of the opposite sex must be gay. There is no other explanation. (basis: skinny jeans) [/sarcasm]

But honestly, who the fuck cares? All the clothes we wear now are tied almost exclusively to our culture. It used to be manly to paint yourself blue and run around naked with an axe. Now everyone just thinks those people are stupid. Dress however you want, kid.

Also: ditto on the kissing, that bit does look a bit off.

*sigh*
it's not a big deal.
it's no deal at all
and what is 'genderconfused'? I'm a bit effeminate at times (hence the hoppip isnthecute) but I'm definately an 80% hetero male.
This is only controversial if we think it is.

OMG. I can't believe that mother...

Why is she painting her son's toe nails when there are still crayons scattered on the table? As a Roman Catholic, I can't stand this sort of lackadaisical reward system.

Protip: Do not reward your children with a pedicure if they haven't cleaned up their work area!

It's not the gay issue it's the bizarre and arbitrary rules people seem to have governing things. For a very long time in my town white socks were gay. This was all the weirder since pants cuffs cover socks 99% of the time so it always made me wonder did the non-white sock guys think there was some secret order of white socks gaying out.

Regarding skinny jeans I honestly don't know how any guy can wear those AND have male genitalia. Pants that are even a bit tight in the crotch can be torture.

I think I said something like that later on in my post (quoted above). Not like the socks thing, the other bit.

Also agree with the skinny jeans, then again, women go through worse pain to look fashionable (smart girls don't wear heels), so it's probably something you get used to over time.

This looks controversial.

I can tell from the comments and from seeing quite a lot of controversy in my time.

Also this is my 300'th comment, cheers.
