I've got arachnaphobia (which really helps the whole reputation thing when they've just announced girls are 4 times as likely to have arachnaphobia and some of them even have it in their GENES to be scared of them) and I also hate bugs that are moderately sized or bigger, and ones that fly all over the place.

Just a thing I've had for as long as I can remember. A couple of years ago I got dragged to this butterfly farm (yes yes, how exciting) by my dad for my little brother and sister.

I was practically hyperventilating, cos these fuckers were like 5 inches across and flying about and they were EVERYWHERE. It was like a green house on this really tight bath and a lots of bloody plants for them to pounce from. And I got to a certain point but that must have been in the bloody middle because I then had to walk the same distance I'd come to get out.

Bloody terrifying.

I'm quite fond of many bugs. Flies and mosquitos piss me off, so I make a point of not killing the spiders and beetles in the hopes that they mighht eat a few.

Not particularly. Average human being swallows an average of about 26 spiders during their lifetime while they sleep.

Try and sleep now, kiddies ^_^

Normally I'd be fine, but big as my fist? I'd probably feel uneasy as hell :-/

This morning, when I went in to take a shower, I saw the biggest spider I'd ever seen (outside of the zoo or whatever) on my floor. Not fist-sized, but decent. Normally I would try to take it outside, or just ignore it. But he seemed pretty edgy to see me, and was between me and my shower. So I kinda had to skoosh him. I was in a hurry.

Goes to piano. Sees a shadow. Thinks it's the pencil I dropped. Something starts crawling on my hand. The largest FUCKING spider I've ever seen. I scream like a girl for 3 minutes before killing it with a hammer.

Bottom line... I hate bugs. In fact I fear spiders more than anyother bug.

Oh gods, I hate spiders and bugs. I dunno how you managed to pick it up, I'd run screaming and hide somewhere.
There's a daddy long legs in my room, but I called it Percy.

I generally keep my house clean enough to avoid bugs, and while I'm unnerved by their rather unnatural appearance I don't kill them outright. Only if they seem to present a palpable threat. Cockroach or garden spider? Trap him in a cup and stick him outside. On the other hand, I once killed a 3'' long neon yellow spider with a can of WD40 and a lighter. I'll also avoid wasps and hornets like the plague. I've never been stung, and seeing as how a good many folks in my family are allergic to them I wouldn't want to find out half an hour from the nearest source of an antidote as to whether or not I am.

Insects I'm sort of okay with. But I can't stand spiders.
Maybe I'm a bit phobic, but luckily any phobia I might have is not strong enough to stop me from stomping every last one of them I see.

In other news, apparently my bathroom is infested with spiders. My Mum's found like two huge spiders in there in the past week or something.
Not infested I guessed, but... yeah, three fist-sized spiders in one week isn't a good sign.

My bedroom's ceiling has at least 2 dead mosquitoes on it. Also, I once broke a bit of the ceiling, throwing my shoe at a spider. Obviously seeing bugs activates my latent super-powers.

OT: insects and bugs don't bother me too much. If I see inside the house one I'll probably kill it, thought.

Mosquitoes, on the other hand, are spawned from the fiery depths of Hell to exert Satan's vengeance on mankind. I hate them, I hate their bites, I hate the sound they make when I'm trying to sleep and I hate it when they walk over my face. Also, they seem to turn invisible the moment I turn on the lights to look for one. Damn ninja bugs.

I'm sorry, this got a bit out of hand.

I have no problems with bugs... But sometimes they do scare me, like when i was going to bed and opened the door to my room and a huge spider was hanging only a few inches from my face... Then i nearly crapped my pants. But the spider died by my palm...(Mwahaha) The other time was when i where going to take a little tour on my moped, and when i put on my helmet i hear a weird sound, so i start to look around and see nothing unusual and then, I feel something touch my ear.. So i threw my helmet on the ground and saw that it was only a little ant... so most bugs that annoys me dies!

I've been thinking about your way to tell the size of a spider so you might have very small fists or, there really is so big spiders in Britain.

Just roaches. And giant spiders. Although spiders can be a nice pet, if I get used to them. I always kill any insect that approaches me. I only spare butterflies, because they aren't that annoying.

I don't mind them, unless they're flying into the window, or the lights, or me. Then they become annoying.
