Poll: DPS, Tank or Healer?

Tabletop RPGs, somehow it doesn't matter how hard I try to do DPS I end up on heals. I'd guess I prefer ranged to short range DPS but always end up playing nursemaid. Maybe I'm good at it. Maybe I just paint myself into corners by including minimal heal abilities on characters to stave off the worst.

In Star Wars Galaxies, my main is a Rodian medic. This is not as pure heal-based as you'd think, since that comes with poison gas and other lunacy making it more of a hybrid.

Tauren enhancement shaman in WoW, definitely melee DPS.

In tabletop i tend to be tanks though...

Healer here. Resto Druid, to be precise. Though I do like going Feral and tanking every now and then... Though I did like my Sorc in WAR.

Ranged DPS. I love the chaos of it. Tanking is a close second, because then I get to say "Can't touch this!" because really, they can't.

I am pretty much the same as you. I prefer protecting my team mates, so I am usually the tank or the healer. When not in team, however, I might just as well go for a more offensive route. But I do prefer not breaking upon impact with a gust of wind.

Depends on the game. Ranged DPS in WoW. (De)Buff/Healing specialist in CoH.

When I used to play WOW I was a pally... so I was kinda tank/healer??? LOL!

When I used to play World of Warcraft, I was a protection Warrior(tank). It was the only thing I was really good at in that game, in fact, I was a bit too good at it, heh.

I play as tank or a healer.... the best is being hybrid and just switching specs. god i loved my paladin and druid

Most definitely healer. It just sucks when everything is my fault when a retard runs off on his own.

I would most definitely love to be pure DPS, but I'm a much better healer. Only thing that sucks about being a healer is when in a raid. The Main Healing Leader can be such a ***** when assigning position. If I didn't have to deal with assholes, I would definitely love healing more than DPS.

I was a Priest in WoW and the coolest thing was Mind Controlling in 25-mans. I wasn't quite healing, but I was doing something important. I dearly miss it.. damn you monthly costs!!!

I played a Destruction Warlock in WOW before I quit. So, Caster DPS.

Well, I played a Druid in WoW. So that doesn't narrow anything down.

I enjoyed tanking, for the fact that my 'skill' as a player had a tangible effect on the outcome of a fight.

Other than that I hate options being so limited.
