I'll be getting, and I'll probably love it.

But I'm still pissed about the dialog wheel. I hate trying to guess what my character is going to say. And I hate not being able to imagine my character having the same voice as Patrick Stewart.

Waiting for the Demo on PC (Februari 22nd), I was rather disappointed by Dragon Age Origins, so I won't be making the same mistake twice. I will try before I decide anything.
I assumed DAO would grab me like games such as Planescape: Torment or Neverwinter Nights have, however it didn't, not in the slightest.

It looks a little more Mass Effect-like now in terms of streamlining, which in my opinion is a good thing. The action-RPG style is a compelling one, and I hope it works out for Dragon Age 2.

I agree: I've seen and read a lot about DA2 and from the first concept art I've been giving this thing second looks and second thoughts. What I loved about the original was how you could be any kind of person you wanted: A renegade Elf, a gray Dwarven-Female, etc. It seems like Bioware is trying to do a Commander Shepard kind of thing with Hawk (who even looks similar to The Commander).

Also, all of the DLC that was announced, bought and, sold before the release of DA:2 has really put me off. I've asked before if anybody has tallied up all of the DLC but haven't got an answer yet. I can understand some but this magnitude of extra stuff before release doesn't rub me the right way in this post-Pub Games era of gaming (referring to the DLC you got before Fable 2 which could have helped break Albion's economy before the release of Fable 2.)

I'm probably not getting it. I really disliked Origins, so I don't think I'll get the sequel.

Shit looks retarded.
Yeah, have you seen the darkspawn on some trailers? They look cartoonish and more human-like, which is not a good thing.

OT: But still, i'm getting it at realease day, i loved DA:O and mass effect 2 and i'm actually happy to see dialogue-wheel coming from me2 because the character might/(is going to and you know it) say something really unexpected and funny.

Waiting on the Demo.

I think I've finally outlined the formula BioWare used to make the game:
25% Dragon Age: Origins
50% Mass Effect 2
25% Devil May Cry

Seriously, the combat videos make my eye twitch. Hawk keeps making impossibly exaggerated movements and jumps, wielding impossibly large weapons, in impossibly over the top combat animations. If I wanted to play a JRPG, I would. I play western RPG's for a reason.

They have to prove to me that I'm not playing Baldur's Nights: Origins before i'm spending a dime.

Looks pretty much exactly the same as DA:O without the outdated engine to me.[/quote]

Outdated graphics = style?

I got no clue.

I belive that tha phrase "FUCK YEAH!" was invented just for this purpose.

Origins was to me by far the best game that year and I'm liking what I've seen of DA2 so far. It's likely the one truly bright spot in the first six months of this year as far as gaming goes.

It's all done, for better or for worse.

I'll be getting it, as it looks more streamlined, but not remotely to such a degree as Mass Effect 2. And the Rogue looks to actually play like a Rogue. With nimble movements and all. Unlike most Rogues, which are usually just stealth characters in most games. I am very mad about being forced to play as a human with the dialogue wheel, though.

But it still has stats like Strength and Dexterity. And skill trees. And all that good shit. Me likey that stuff. Me likey that stuff with respec of some sort more...but me still likey.
You need to add a "already got it" option to the poll.
How did you?

And if you didn't already vote, I'll gladly add the option.
Well, I don't physically have it yet, but I preordered it from Steam about two months ago. If you mean actually already playing the game, then no, it'll be a bit yet.
Pre-orders just go in the Yes/Bioware voting pool.
OK. Wasn't quite clear on what you meant. Whether Yes meant "Plan on buying it later" or "Already PreOrdered"

Thanks for clearing it up. Boom, voted.

Wow... obvious I'm one of a small number of jackasses who is actually looking forward to the action-combat approach of DA2. So, before any of you start going "you're doing it wrong", regardless of what I did when with who, with the exception of orange-level bosses and the Harvester from the Golems of Amgarrak DLC (that achievement was a *****), the combat almost put me to sleep every time; the only time I really panicked was when I dual-wielding rogue Warden (complete with broken-ass Combat Stealth and Momentum). So I'm actually looking forward to being able to react to the situation a la DMC and NGB/2 as opposed to selecting a few abilities and letting the algorithms of the combat engine take care of everything else for me.

As far as "Hawke" is concerned, if BioWare will at least still allows the players to customize the appearance, I'm happy.

Ehhh... I'm not sure
I haven't finished Origins or bought awakening, The combat is challanging for someone who's screwed their build up (if I'd known I could screw up a build after 12 hours of play and still not be anywhere near the middle of the game, I'd probably have looked something good up)

Even on easy, I don't find anything that fun from the combat, so it's going to be on easy in any case just so I don't have to sit through a prolonged battle.

maybe that's enough of an indictment to make me not get the game :/...

Or maybe i just picked a wrong class.

it's a lot of money for an interactive pick your own adventure :/

Everything I've seen about it turns me off - but I've never been disappointed in a Bioware game before - so here's what I'll do. See that it's out for whatever ridiculous price that games retail for nowadays. Avoid it because it's going to be a total disappointment and I'm not spending aforementioned unknown yet ridiculous price on acquiring a disappointment. Maybe I'll make some Dragon Effect joke and lol to myself for a week or so.

Then I will...

Wait til it comes down to a more reasonable price (like £20) something like 5 months after it's out. Go, holy shit, this is awesome, and enjoy it. The end!

Yeah, I will be getting it. I'm a bit concerned with all the comparison to Mass Effect II, as i'm not of fan of that bioware series. I guess that I will make up my mind when it comes out...
