from what I heard they are gonna be pretty freakin cool, the other elder scrolls games really had everything a fantasy universe needs EXCEPT dragons. Plus it sounds like they give your character some character instead of just a random prison convict who learned how to wield godly powers and wipe out HELL because he was born on the right day.
Nah, that's pretty much the same story here.
Only, hell is replaced by dragons and you're a dragonese speaker too (pretty much because you were born the right day lol), which enables you to use dragon-magic which is actually what dragons are using too when breathing fire or doing other dragony stuff.
The main quest will undoubtedly be superior but don't expect to get a Jrpg protagonist's level of details about yourself. You're still a pretty blank slate and even blanker than before since the only thing you know about yourself when you start out is your appearance and that you're about to be executed, you don't pick up a set of skills or traits or even a magician or warrior or thief outline, those are all obtained as you play through your choices, so you start of with even fewer known things about you than before.
this is what pretty much killed oblivion for me
I dont think the zombie NPC's helped but I just didnt feel like a charachter I felt like a walking Camera..I had NO connection with the world and I juust didnt care what was going on
as opased to say fallout3 or fallout NV where I could acctually define my charachter and I had somthing to work with (especially in Fallout 3's case that was brilliantly done)
I mean do you supose we would get somthing resembling dialogue options or somthing? I mean I just want SOMTHING to work with
I honestly dont think I could play if was a blank charachter as Oblivion (my charachter was so blank...so much of a non-entity it was like I was some kind of black hole) I dont think I could play if it was like that again
as for skyrim...well I dont know
