Which should be legal and why?
- I think that marijuana and only that should be legal, and before you all descend upon me for this, let me explain.
I live in British Columbia, Canada, which is arguably one of the most lenient places in the Americas for marijuana use. As such, a lot of people I know use it frequently and have easy access to it.
I want you to disregard a lot of the ads you see or hearsay you hear about pot. It's not a good thing to be doing all the time - what is, really - but it's not the brain-melting devilgrass you hear it is.
I've smoked pot a couple times, and I will explain to you what it does: it makes you hungry, it makes you tired, and it makes everything really funny. That's it. I personally get pretty drawn-in and reclusive when I'm stoned, and prefer to just hang out, eat oranges and watch the Comedy Network. That's it.
That said, it's not really my thing (I hate feeling so "meh"), but it's not harmful and really relieves stress. It's no worse than cigarettes or alcohol.
Why do you choose to use or not use them?
- I experimented when I was a young buck, and most experiences were bad. My morphine trip was terrifying (skin was growing on the walls and was chasing me to the bathroom), and all through my LSD trip I thought I was going to die, and all the other drugs I've tried just weren't for me. Pot is a recreational thing (once a year, tops) and usually only when I'm really stressed, but again, it makes me too lazy to want to do it all the time.
Does your opinion of a person change if you find out they use drugs?
- It depends on the drug, really. If someone tells me they smoke pot, I'm indifferent - if they like to sit at home and listen to Pink Floyd all day instead of doing stuff, that's cool, that's their call. But if it's something like crack, or coke, or any of the rougher shit, then usually my opinion for them drops.
Especially crack and meth. They're such dirty drugs. Of course, that may sound a little hypocritical, coming from a guy who really, really wants to try heroin, just once.
