dubbed often make the anime sound stupid.
though subbed can retain the sense of intelligence and without ruining the anime.

It is interesting to have it dubbed but sometimes the characters just sound weird when they are dubbed. my example is magical shopping arcade abenobashi I realize they are suppose to be southern japan but i don't understand how that translate to a southern american accent.

I prefer subbed.

I generally perfer subbed, I find that English voice actors often have a hard time putting real emotion in their voices, (well in the dubs that I've seen) but, I really enjoyed Full Metal Alchemist dubbed so they are not all bad.

Subs are slightly better, because sometimes you also get explanations of culture references that you might miss in a dub.

depends on the quality of the dubbing work. Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, I prefer the dubs, but the likes of Bleach, Tekkaman Blade, Samurai 7. The subs.

It depends. If it's a decent dub, I'd rather watch it in a language I understand, but I don't have a problem with subs if there isn't a good dub available.

I'll generally look to see if the dub is any good first. I haven't watched a whole load of anime but half the ones that have had english dubs have been fairly decent. While I do actually find the original voices somewhat more fitting I don't really like having to keep my eyes on two things at once.

Subbed, outside of ghibli I've never, NEVER, heard good voice acting for dubbing. It's always some shitty stereotypical American actor that does it.

Subbed, all the time. Because english dubs are the work of the devil...

Same goes for german dubs...

... or just any dub...

Subbed. The incongruity of the dubbing and the mouth movements will distract me more than reading the subtitles will.

I've always just gone with wichever one I found first. It's funny though because if I start with dubs then I can't switch to subs and vice versa. I guess I just get used to how the people sound...

Subbed. Definitely and without question. The English voice-actors are horrible.
