Kinda depends on the movie/series, but generally subtitles are better.
I was expecting a majority prefering subtitles from Escapists, but not that big a difference.

I'd rather subtitles than dubbed. The noise coming out thier mouth should be their own and not some cheap-rate actors voice in in english. Not everybody speaks english so why should they just for a film. Besides some languages sound better than english.

a resounding 100% towards subtitles. Dubbed movies look stupid, except for the greatest dubbed movie of ALL TIME:

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist

That is one I would make the exception for, because it wouldn't be funny if it wasn't dubbed.

Hahah.. Yeah i just love that movie.. You can call me Bettie! haha.. Laughed my ass off..
And when they cry and the one titted woman.. Ahh.. Funny.

Wasn't there suppose to be made a kung pow 2? Seemed so on the extras on the dvd, but not heard any of it as of yet..

Subs, definately... if it's out of sync, I tend to want to hit something. (Try watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Italy, or Scrubs... they frickin' dub everything xD though I'll admit the singing egg sounds prettier in Italian, maybe because there is no mouth to sync it to..)

Subtitles keep the authentication-ness (?) of it all, I find that they keep the quality up, and dubbed just makes movies seem a whole bunch work.
I should know

For films, subtitles are the best. Thataways, the English actors they bring in can't screw it up at all.

Depends if its a good dub.
No such a thing as a good dub. There are only more or less shitty and atrocious dubs, but they are all bad.

Haven't we had this exact same topic about 10 times now? I swear I remember it from last week... Yeah, subs all the way, dubs are content rape and only justifiable for blind people or children too young to read, that's all there is to it.

Subtitles. Dubbing pretty much means you don't think the original actor's words are good enough, so you had someone redo them so an audience could understand them.

Dubbed movies sound absolutely horrid. Watching a Jackie Chan movie knowing you're supposed to hear something completely different out of their mouths is aggravating as hell. Don't even get me started on how convincing these voice actors come off.

Subs are the best when watching a foreign movie.

Blue dragon, ghost in the shell, both good dubs.

Haven't seen blue dragon, but Ghost in the Shell's dub wasn't good, just not "very horrible".

It's like comparing loosing an arm to loosing all your limbs... Sure loosing an arm is a far less serious than loosing ALL your limbs, but it's still pretty terrible.

Subtitles for me. The out synch speech does my head in and almost all dubs are done by the same American tittybiscuits with high pitched, irritating voices.
Oh QFT...

I can't stand those Americans accents...

(Nice use of the word 'tittybiscuits' BTW ;D)

I only like dubs in a few Animes.
