Seriously, most peopel joke about stupid things of them being an elitist about but if everyone hates someone sharing their talents calling them an elitist its because they are a untalented douchefag. Sorry, if I offended anyone but its what I think.

I read that review. Funny thing was, I was thinking of doing the same thing but you beat me to it. Gotta think of something else to do, now.

I just got an email...it asked me if I really wanted to stop, and I had to say no...

Yeah, he was dressed in a blue jumpsuit and he injected me with something, no idea what and then just said sentence which was "You know you love it" and BAM! here I am now...

Everyone here seems to think very highly of themselves. It gets annoying after a while. And everyone always has some sort of disorder that they're alright with. That may not have anything to do with elitism, but it's just another generalization I've seen.

I've noticed some problems and I admit I might be apart of it. Sure, I don't show it (do I?) but since I became gonzo my standards on threads immediately went soaring, almost refusing to touch any repeats and almost start saying "SEARH BAR!!!"

The Escapist is sort of an anti-fanboy gathering place. You know, what with ZP and all.

Somebody suggested removing post counts. All that does is replace post count elitism with join date elitism.

I think elitism is ingrained into the entire gaming culture. It's much easier to compete with someone than it is to try and stand on even ground with them, be their friends and all that. At least, that's the case for some people.

You have four posts and you said what I've always thought in three sentences. I'm half-inclined to say that you're an older user trying to make a point since your message is so pithy, just to be ironic. But seriously, welcome to the forums, darling! <3

I'm not sure if people here really have that much trouble being friendly toward others or if they just think it's cool to pretend like they do... What would be so bad about a forum where everybody loved and respected each other and just had faith that we all mean well? It sounds like a hippy-notion when I say it like that, but come on, we're Escapists, we would make it cool and mod it with steampunk jazz. The next argument I anticipate is "But people are idiots, why should I respect someone who doesn't deserve it?" Yes, people are idiots, and we put up with them in real life every day. But usually in real life, people berate the jerk who yells at the idiot for being ignorant, instead of joining in. We're all idiots. It's about time we recognized it and helped each other out a bit.

Well, I didn't enjoy the first movie at all, and I don't think it has any kind of cinematic merit. That said, what does it really matter?

I bet you don't like Death Proof. I'm about the only Tarantino fan who doesn't hate that movie.

I wish everyone would say to them self, "what does it matter?" before flaming someone, that's the kind of thing I like to see. They're just movies after all, an hour and half sitting in front of a screen, and yet people get so worked up about it.

And I've never seen Death Proof, if it's an action movie I'd probably like it.

If I may throw a wrench in your idea...

I've been called elitist because of my posting habits; I generally won't post unless I believe I can add something that hasn't already been added. For me it's a logical thing. If someone says something I want to say better than I can say it, why bother saying anything?

A lot of times, it's also an issue of whether or not I want to add something. A lot of the threads I come across I don't consider interesting or worthwhile. I've become something of a lurker, dispensing wisdom where I can, ignoring all else.

My question is this; does this make me elitist? It's not that I want the site to conform to what I want it to be, just that I won't get into something if I'm not interested in it. I don't think of myself as elitist, but I could be wrong.
