I've had an account since about 6 mo after the launch date, never quit.

That said, I only have 1 lvl 80 character, so I suppose I'm pretty casual. Probably why I never got burnt out on the game after all these years

OT: I don't play WoW for but one reason: It costs money monthly. I'd probably play it otherwise.

I haven't played it because I refuse to pay for any MMO where there are subsciption fees.

I don't play it, but I may try it as soon as they stop requiring a periodical payment.
While I used to be in the same boat as you guys, after trying it for a few months you'll see that it is definitely worth the monthly fee. There's simply so much content, and the fact that they keep adding new stuff every couple of months means that you will never run out of thing to do. Assuming you like the gameplay it's a much better deal than buying a new game every month.
The problem with the monthly fees is that I don't have that much time anymore (except during summer), so most of the month I pay for would be completely lost.

I think it's fun. I play it fairly regularly, having purchased all three expansions and everything, and am currently trying to get my undead warlock to level 55 so I can make a Death Knight. Out of curiosity, anyone else play on the Nazgrel server like I do?

EDIT- This [http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Nazgrel&n=Salzan] is my main character, but I use some others fairly frequently.

There's no option for someone who hasn't played it, doesn't want to know about it, and doesn't want to play it

I like having at least a semblance of a social life
Actually most other WoW players I know have a pretty normal social life. Although this game can be very time consuming, it doesn't have to be. At least, not any moreso than any other game out there.
Ok my bad, the people I know who play spend all free time on it and seem pretty creepily obsessed

Ok I'm biased then, sue me

Played it for a while, and also got into Lord of the Rings Online (very similar) for a while after quitting WoW. Basically, it started getting annoying that I'd have to set aside large blocks of times to do instance dungeons with groups. You can't just quit in the middle of it without letting your teammates down, so you're hooked into continuing to play even though you feel like doing something else. And if you play solo, it just becomes tedious grind.

I play WoW pretty regularly. I have an 80 rouge, (Undead fot the effing win) who is my main, and I'm working on leveling a healer type character.

My rouge if you want to check him out:

Same here.

I've tried FFXI, City of Heroes/Villains, and Vanguard. After that, I pretty much gave up on subscription MMORPGS.
I tried a few and I don't think they could match up to how immersive the single player rpg experience is for me.

Also, cool avatar ;)

Never got into it. I've played plenty better MMorpg's with better gameplay and better community in my opinion.
