Poll: EVE-Online: Why aren't you playing it?

I've been in EVE for almost 2 and a half years, and I really like it. I can't imagine joining another MMO unless I find out it has as deep an economy since I like running a corporation. As can be seen on this chart http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart1.html EVE has a small but steadily growing userbase. This seems to indicate that it has a very strong appeal to a small part of the population.

I'm curious about what people around here think about it; you guys must see the ads all the time (which I think look pretty spiffy).

Why aren't I playing it? Two reasons.

1) I prefer WoW.
2) It costs money/month, which is more than my unemployed student ass can afford right now.
3) I don't like it.

I tried the 14 day demo, but found it so slow and opaque I gave up after one day.

Two closely linked reasons: i) Its a MMORPG and ii) I have a job and girlfriend and maybe four spare hours a week I can use for gaming.

Because it'd take up oodles of time I don't have. I'm just lucky it's boring.

I tend to sub eve for a month, play around, then have 4 or so months off...

My reason wasn't up there, but I don't play it because you are stuck in a spaceship the whole time, which sounds boring as hell to me.

Doesn't look like a good game. Reviews I've seen on it say it blows. People who played it that I know absolutely hated it. WoW is better.

I get enough spreadsheets at work. Plus one of the few leisure activities I enjoy that is mentally challenging (writing RPGs) takes up enough time as is.

yes its to lame a game to play. I mean I play runescape lots of grinding and sitting its worth the 5$ a month. EVE plays itself while you not play so that kills the joy for me. i like to click and click and click for my skills not go play halo 3 then come back to find i leveled up a ton....

I...I can't even begin to argue. Not because you're right, but because it's so very very wrong. Not even wrong in the sense of me disagreeing with your opinion, wrong in the sense that what you said is actually a crime against the Universe.

You prefer the bastard abomination that is Runescape (that you're actually paying for no-less) to EVE? Absolutely mind boggling. Absolutely crazy.
