Both. Not going to pick between the two. BOTH.
I'm afraid it's not an option.

SIR, I NEED A DECISION NOW!

Ok ok... to be fair... Elder Scrolls V. It's been a while since ES IV came out. I beaten it... NUMEROUS times. So make a damn sequel! That... and I want to see what they could expand on it.

also, it'd be cool if there were more than one guild for each type
There were... Why does everyone always think this? That's not even counting the arena!

One of my all time favorite games is Morrowind.
But as much as i loved it, Oblivion disappointed equally.

I am at a loss here, Elders Scrolls if it is as good Morrowind if not I hope for Fallout.
I'm thinking about getting it off of steam. I'm so fricking tired of my enemies leveling too...

Elder Scrolls V! They'll have the grab and telekinesis figured out, oblivion graphics and combat detection, Morrowind immersion and story, and a story based on a Guy Fawkes wannabe!

Well, that's the thing. Depressing can be good if you're in that kind of mood.

While I personally preferred Fallout 3 to Oblivion (by a small margin, for the record), I think that it would be best to get the next Elder Scrolls game first. Way I see it, there's been more innovation since Oblivion than there has been since Fallout, so getting an ES game first would seem fresher.
Well, when you think about it, if you want to talk about innovation in the Fallout franchise, Fallout went completely in a different direction with the third installment with a total overhaul and redesigned gameplay. I mean, we went from turn-based tactical gameplay to an action-packed RPG with FPS elements.

But, in all honesty, I really feel that Fallout 3 was more of a successor to the Elder Scrolls series. Sure completely different story and setting, but they were just too similar in my book, both with hit and miss features.

So, what I'm really asking is if you want the perfect post-apocalyptic RPG or the perfect fantasy RPG.

I'd have to go with Fallout 4. I just really like the setting they've done with 3, and I enjoyed the feel of the game. Oblivion just felt really lacking to me in comparison. (I still need to get around to trying Morrowind.) I also like the idea of less standard fantasy RPG affairs.

I think elder scrolls V should come first... It should be on a new engine though^^ And it needs a better combat system and levelling system. Also the world in it should be huge! I'd like it better if it was more like Morrowind than Oblivion.

Fallout 4. Although, I believe they're calling it "New Vegas" because it's the same engine/style/story, but a new player and setting.

So long as Bethesda never use that horrible old engine they've had on life-support for nearly a decade again, I'm all for either one, really.

Not to mention making their game more of an RPG and adding more indepth ways to interact with the world and it's people...
I've got a lot of complaints for Bethesda, they can improve a lot of stuff over their old games.

Elder scrolls 5 as long as they bring back levitation, spears, the imperial legion, enemies and loot that aren't scaled, custom built dungeons, unique treasures and artifacts that can be found other than through daedric quests and the removal of quick travel.

Same here. I don't like brown/grey rubble as my scenery. I like the color green and I love being able to collect components to sell or combine into better items to sell. I have picked up Fallout 3, and the fire-breathing ants look like fun, but repetitive blasted scenery that doesn't even have a few oases of recovering greenery to relieve it-well, it can't hold my attention. If the next one had some stunted grass fields and small copses of fresh water and trees-I probably would enjoy it more. (Maybe it's a subconscious issue. Knowing that no plants = no food for animals = slow death up the food chain, I can't buy the viability of the ecosystem. So once the food stores ran out there would be the end of the survivors.)

More of every guild tbh. Another game in each franchise is inevitable, I'd like Elder Scrolls V first though

Fallout: New Vegas, only because I felt attached to the fallout world. NOTE: I have only played Oblivion and Fallout 3. Not to mention I have beat every single mission in Fallout 3 while I havn't found much time to play Oblivion because of MW2 and L4D2 and everything.
