I want a better magic system, and a fixed leveling system.

amen.
about more stuff for guilds in general?

for that matter more of everything, Oblivion had solid stuff but too little in too big of a space
meaning not the same god dam dungeon every time,
More god dam people in the giant cities!
More god dam variety of weapons! AND armor!!
More god dam better-ness of the magic system!
More god dam awesomeness of the leveling system!
More god dam enemies that are not always leveled to you!
More god dam empathy for those who play as Orcs!!!
[sup]my point being that they were supposed to be the awesome berserker class but kinda got a little short end of the stick to Redguards [/sup]
and the one everyone is waiting for

Since we're getting Fallout New Vegas in 2010 i'd like it if Bethesda started on Elder Scrolls V. Then after that Fallout 4.

Elder Scrolls. I didn't enjoy Fallout, honestly. It was cool for about... two days. Then it got really, really, really boring.

Morrowind was awesome, Oblivion was at the very least fun (I liked being an archer and picking people off in the towns after completing all the assassin missions).

You are aware that New Vegas isn't going to be FO4.

OT:I would rather take a good dose of a new Elder Scrolls game.

And use the search bar next time you make a new thread!

Oblivion was awful because of it's sheer size, tone it down a notch back to Morrowind status and we're doing good.

I didn't like Fallout 3's landscape really, it made treking the wastes dull after the initial "wow, this is the end of the world huh?".

Essentially this post narrows down to, more Morrowindy goodness pl0x.

Wow....... That, is a very hard choice.

I fucking loved Fallout 3 and have spent more than 270 hours playing it and it's STILL fun. On the other hand, I didn't like Oblivion so much because of the old style graphics, outdated game play mechanics and crappy immersion, all of which would most likely be fixed with The Elder Scrolls V.

I still think I would have to go with Fallout 4 though. That game is amazing and I'm more of a Sci-Fi nerd than a fantasy nerd.

Fallout: New Vegas, only because I felt attached to the fallout world. NOTE: I have only played Oblivion and Fallout 3. Not to mention I have beat every single mission in Fallout 3 while I havn't found much time to play Oblivion because of MW2 and L4D2 and everything.
<url=http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_FAQ>See this.

In there it clearly states that New Vegas and FO4 will be different games.

We need another Elder Scrolls game first. Especially one written along the lines of Morrowind, it had a better story and far more interesting characters. I especially, though it sounds strange, miss the naked Nords.

why isn't there a "neither. make a new franchise" slot?
would it be cool to have a new bethesda game that is not Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls V?

This. Definitely.
if you tried to write a script for most conversations in oblivion (which by themselves are just pants!!) you'd think everyone in it is schizophrenic.

"hello.........hello................. what is going on with you?...........I saw a mud grab the other day, I think they're dreadful creatures.....................I'm not talking to you. it's because I don't like you..............bye............good day"

BLASPHEMER!!!
lol jk. Why>? They're both great franchises as far as RPGs are concerned, and why experiment with something new when there's a higher probability they'll make a better Fallout or Elder Scrolls? Just my 2 cents.

1) Fix the damn levelling in Oblivion. It was terrible in that being better at your class skills made you worse off overall.

2) Both had the exact same story.

Piss around doing sidequests for 100 hours, then spend 3 hours doing the one quest chain designated as main quest. Then you get told game over, and you move on with your life.

Replace 'Sean Bean' with 'Liam Neeson' and that's pretty much it.

Seriously tho, their stories were... meh.

Oblivion:

OH GOD HAVE TO FIND SEAN BEAN!
Oh look. Random Hell Fire Realm. And there he is. Hi!
Well done, go kill some cultists.
Now go diving into random hell fire realms until Sean Bean saves the day.

That's. About. It.

Fallout 3:

OH GOD HAVE TO FIND LIAM NEESON!
Oh look. There he is.
Let's go fix the Brita water filter.
Okay, the Enclave took it from is. Bye Liam Neeson.
Kill Malcolm McDowell-in-a-box.
Return, turn on the water filter.

That's. About. It.

Seriously, when your sidequests have better plots and longer quest chains, you can't really call your central plot "Compelling."

I'd love to see a new Elder Scrolls. However, I don't believe we'll see a release until after the second Elder Scrolls novel is released. The first, <a href=http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Infernal-City/Greg-Keyes/e/9780345508010/?itm=1&USRI=Infernal+City>Infernal City, was just released and is the first half of two set 40 something years after the Oblivion crisis... So, I hope the book comes out soon. I have a bit of withdrawal from that universe.

Fallout 3 was much better than Oblivion, a step back from Morrowind, but overall The Elder Scrolls series has much more room for variety. TES V can feel like a new game, where as Fallout 3 just came out last year and is still well within the mod+dc+expansion phase.

Although alternatively, to spice things up they could take the 'Fallout' franchise in a completely different direction and do something other than a post nuclear apoctolyptic setting. Keep the all the gameplay mechanics and concepts of Fallout, but change the setting to the remnants of humanity in an alien invasion scorched earth, a 2012 like global catastrophy ice age, a human killing virus that leaves the world overrun by nature, or just a good old fashion zombie apocolypse. With the Elder Scrolls, the can set game on the Volcanic Morrowind Island, the forested Imperial Capital, the Skyreach Mountains, the lizard people(?) Marshes, etc, and the game will have a different look & feel to it. I don't know if you can get that with Fallout without changing the Post Apocolyptic setting.
