I'd have to go with The Elder Scrolls V personally. The reason for this being that I have put 200+ hours into Morrowind (greatest game ever made....EVER!) and nearly 100 hours into Oblivion. I don't think any game will ever immerse you into a world like an Elder Scrolls title, although Fallout 3, I must concede, was also a masterpiece. I'll always remember these moments that made the Elder Scrolls great: "You have contracted Black-Heart Blight (nooooooooooooooo!)", trying to kill every NPC in the game on Morrowind, literally stopping to LOOK at the surroundings in Oblivion they were so gorgeous (very few games have made me do this).

Same, have probably spent more time on Oblivion than any other game.

Elder Scrolls.

Simply because they failed fallout when most of the work had been done for them, if they ever had to make it without any help then we're screwed. Who the hell puts an ending and a level cap ? Nubz.

I'd like some Elder Scrolls, but maybe with some new elements, like a V.A.T.S system. With the sword play, it could be very cinematic*, of course they would have to do it right.

* = I use this term very sparingly, in this day and age.

Both series have been butchered by Bethesda's current team, so I really don't care.

Elder Scrolls V would have to be my option, I found it a much more engaging series, and prefer the whole ancient weaponry aspect to guns.

The Elder Scrolls V: Now With Glitch Testing. Then it will be worth the money.

why isn't there a "neither. make a new franchise" slot?
would it be cool to have a new bethesda game that is not Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls V?
There's the door.

Get Out.

Heh just kidding,

Although a new franchise sounds interesting, I believe bethesda has two wonderful settings to play around with. I'm going to have to say TES: V Played Morrowind, Played Oblivion, loved both. I feel like a new TES is neccasary to keep me sane.

Elder Scrolls, since Fallout came last.

I think for TESV they should develop a new engine, and bring back the Morrowind-level complexity to both the story and the mechanics. Basically, they should develop it on the PC, not on a console. Nearly all of Oblivion's faults (barring the ubiquitious voice actors) can be traced to consolification.

i personally enjoyed Fallout 3 more than Oblivion but, that being said, if Bethesda fixed the magic in Oblivion and made a more traditional/fallout-styled leveling system instead of the incredibly backwards one that they have been so intent on using, I think that i'd rather see a new Elder Scrolls game come first...

i like that they have always tried "something new/different" for elder scrolls leveling systems but the bottom line is: they are broken and backwards. If they want to innovate the leveling system that is fine but it has to work. If not...just use something more traditional.

...but maybe that's because I've always been more of a fantasy buff than a science fiction one
I agree with this man. I've always liked such fantasy (Elder Scrolls) more than science-fiction (Fallout).

That said, the Fallout series, and Fallout 3 were fan-fuckin'-tastic games, but I still prefer the Elder Scrolls games.
