Poll: Fallout New Vegas: are you going to play it in hardcore?

The question in the title.
I for one am heavily exited about hard core mode and am most certainly going to it on my for first play through.
Any thoughts about the mode?

Since hard on fallout 3 was too easy for me, yes. If they geared up the difficultly all around and made hard mode more difficult then I might consider not bothering with it.

Definitely for my second playthrough. I've always wanted to try one of those realistic mods for Fallout 3 on PC, but I have an Xbox. Hardcore New Vegas sounds like an excellent way to try this. I just want to play my first playthrough classic Fallout 3 style (you know, to carry 1000s of bullets at a time.)

I'll be using it my first time through. I love the idea of even more survival aspects in a not so desolate wasteland.

The thing is, I'd be fine if they made your enemies tougher and made you less of a god but the inventory system kind of intimidates me.

Yes, on my first playthrough because "hardcore" is, from where I'm sitting, "how it should be". Fallout 3 was WAY too fucking easy.

Well, I never played Fallout 3 on hard. I played all my time on normal. But I get pretty excited at the thought of hardcore, even though I never really played any games on their hardest difficulty.

It seems intensely awesome.

I may try it on my first time, see how long I'd last in a world I am unfamiliar with. If the low level goons begin taking too much damage (like 20 headshots) to bring down I'll lower the difficulty.

Not at first at least. Going to just play normal through it and then maybe later play though hardcore.

Probably on my second playthrough.
Doing it on my first would cause much frustration, and probably prevent me from sustaining my interest in it.

Definitely I will give it a go, but not right from the start. Hardcore mode looks very intriguing and it provides a reason to replay the game, which would happen regardless. Long story short Reach and New Vegas will entertain me for the next year.

Perhaps. I've heard/assumed that its basic gameplay will be quite similar to Fallout 3. I should probably play that first, and see how I cope with its difficulty levels first.

Probably not. Most of the features of the hardcore mode were present in the excellent compilation mode Fallout Wanderer's Edition and all they did was make the game a pain in the ass.
