BTW, I'm 20 hours in, level 21, and I haven't even been to New Vegas yet. All the locations I've discovered have been pretty centralized...haven't been far East or West yet. Tons more to do in this game than Fallout 3. Especially vanilla.
holy shit. have you killed everything that moves outside of new vegas? thats pretty high leveled for not doing any of the main quest involving new vegas..
Negative. I've still got 5 or 6 quests to do outside of New Vegas, and several more to be discovered if I was so inclined. Plus I've discovered two more potential companions, both of which have their own chain of quests I could do.

Important to note that I took all three ranks of Swift Learner early, so I'm leveling faster than most typically would as well.
ohh i see, i try not to use my perks on stuff like those, i use it all on extra dialogue choices or vats stuff mostly.

the only companions i know of are cass and boone, in which boone is a fucking beast in my game, have you discovered anyone else?? if so where are they?

Yeah, I always try to avoid enemies like Radscorpions, or it's back peddling with a shotgun for the next 5 minutes. Those things rip you apart.

My biggest worry is my companion dying, then I would be screwed...

Rex in Freeside (belongs to the King). You'll have to "escort" him to Jacobstown.
ED-E in Primm if you repair him.
Veronica at 188. She doesn't look like much, but she tends to one-hit kill everything.
Arcade at the Mormon fort in Freeside.
Lily in Jacobstown.

That's all I've found so far.

edit: ninja'd.

The funniest and scariest moment I've experienced is when I was attacked by a group of vicious grannies with rolling pins.

That's scariest for me too. So far it always goes back to the game after a 5-15 sec freeze. I haven't had to shut down the console in my game but my wife had to once so far.

Funniest:
Heading to Nipton, and finding the corpes of "Owen" and "Beru" on the ground next to a burnt-out house. Some of the messages in Vault 34.

Scariest: definitely all of Vault 22. And parts of Vault 34.
Definitely agree on Vault 22. Those little fuckers pop up when you least expect 'em. Haven't been to 34 yet.
Actually... I think I'm mixing Vault 34 up with another one...
The Vault I was talking about when I put 34 up was the one that had one of the weirdest electoral processes I've ever heard of.

The entire 'Beyond the Beef' quest.

One of the top Fallout moments ever, that one, but I'm not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't finished it.

Ugh, my worst moment was the Deathclaw quarry with the Alpha Male and Matron. Seriously, if you think normal Deathclaws are tough those two'll give you a nervous breakdown. They look cool as hell though...
Silenced Sniper Rifle + Armour Piercing Rounds. makes 'em piss easy!

Oh you're thinking of Vault 11, Vault 34 is the one with all the ghouls.

As for my scariest moment I'd have to say when I was inside of the REPCONN Headquarters I killed a robot for being annoying and then two Sentry bots came out to attack me, fine no worries I'll turn around and get some distance between them and myself, so I turned and ran to a room down the hall I turn back around and the two had become eight! I was dead in five seconds.

Another scary moment well I was looking around for scrap metal because I didn't pass the speech challenge for Isaac, I went to the trainyard and there was a huge nest of Blind Deathclaws! I was like oh... shit... both my companions went down all I had was my Sniper Rifle but guess what they have fucking armour... so I died...

Aye, after a lot of a few false starts I eventually got it cleared using a similar tactic. Just got me and Boone up onto one of those huge ramp/conveyor belts at the centre of the quarry with scoped rifles apiece and mined the hell out of the lower ramp.

Nice, that's exactly how I did it!

Yeah, Boone is seriously overpowered. I had to leave him behind because he kept stealing all my kills.

Veronica's more fun anyway :)

@ Level 11

I was told about Cottonwood Cove by the NCR Range Outpost nearby, so I decided to make their lives a bit easier by mercilessly killing everyone there.

I was vilified by the Legion, but was able to enter the cove while in disguise.

I sneaked around and stole whatever I could and purchased the slaves in order to set them free. My hands mustn't be bathed in innocent blood.

Then I went to the HQ to talk to Mr. I'm In Charge Around Here.

With the aid of a stealth boy I was able to plant some dynamite on him, blew him to pieces and donned his (much better) armor for the upcoming battle.

I left his office while wearing his armor and with my stealth boy still activated. From there I was able to lay SEVERAL mines at and around the stairs.

Then I threw a grenade, and the battle was joined.

When it was all said and done with I came away with more ammo than I started with. Mostly .44 and .308 rounds. With my back pretty well covered by the dozens of mines I was able to pick off most of the soldiers with my new favorite hunting rifle...unless the opportunity for a well planted grenade arose.

I ended up using about 20 stimpacks, 3 doctor bags, 15 frag mines, 5 bottlecap mines, 10 frag grenades, uncounted .44 and .308 rounds ... and 1 stick of dynamite.

With the use of my newly acquired glatious blade I carved the bodies and stacked them at the entrance of town as well as the docks. Torsos at the entrance, heads at the docks.

With the wealth I've gathered from the looted bodies, I shall become the Barron of Cottonwood Cove.
