I have one thing to say

DAMN YOU GIANT RADSCORPIANS!

I ran for 10 mins to get back to a town so they could kill it for me.

Scariest: Every time the animation pauses and I think it's gonna freeze.
It does!!! It DOES!!!!!!
Froze so bad my PS3 crashed.
Those are the only freezes I think I've had so far. I've had three regular freezes which occurred when trying to exit out of a conversation with a merchant, which required me to do a hard reset, and I also had an infinite loading screen which I was almost able to do a soft-reset with the PS button, except that the PS3 then crashed when going back to the main dashboard.

But yeah, someone else put it best: I'm basically afraid of doors now.

Ugh, my worst moment was the Deathclaw quarry with the Alpha Male and Matron. Seriously, if you think normal Deathclaws are tough those two'll give you a nervous breakdown. They look cool as hell though...
Dead Wind Cavern - I stumbled upon it around level 15, the area didn't seem to have much in it, nothing hard anyway, go into the cave. Four deathclaws greet me about 2 feet from the entrance. I quite literally jumped into the air swearing. Pretty much Dead on Arrival

I made a point to come back to the cave after getting the anti-materiel rifle or the 'deathclaw rifle' as I call it. NPC's even remark about what it does to them in their random chatter. Happily fighting through then I met the Legendary Deathclaw. Jump/swore again. Took me about 15 tries to just get rid of him. One hit removed 95% of my health at level 28 wearing perfect condition Mark 2 Combat Armor.

Was it the same merchant each time? There is one female traveling merchant that crashes the game every single time I talk to her. Usually hangs around between Novac and the 188. She always seems to be with another merchant too. I now save before talking to any of those guys just because of her.

The funniest moment has to do with a glitch. I was walking in the wastes, minding my own business and watching how beautiful are the landscapes, when suddendly a dead raider popped up in the next hill and it got catapulted to the other side of the Mojave. That was quite funny.

The scariest, well, I haven't finished it yet (it's so damn HUGE!), but I have to agree, Vault 34 and the building filled with Feral Ghouls and Nightkin. I haven't met with a Nightstalker yet, but a friend of mine tells me they're quite scary.

Also, any place where I need to deal with several Feral Ghouls, having played FO3 fo a while, I got used to their screams, but in New Vegas, their screams are louder, raspier and scarier, they now sounds almost like L4D's Hunters.

Nah, it was Johnson Nash (or something) in Primm. When you first walk into the casino, he talks to you automatically, and I kept trying to buy stuff off him at the end of the conversation, and it kept crashing.

Finally, I quit the conversation without trying to buy something, let him wander around a bit, and then went and talked to him again, and I was able to buy stuff with no crash.

The infinite load screen occurred in The Strip when I tried to go into some gift shop.

Very early on I decided to head north from Goodsprings. Turned around when I heard skittering type noise and got a screen full of giant Radscorpion. It wasn't too scary til I noticed his three buddies. How'd I survive? Didn't. Got killed! The next one to scare me was the nightstalkers near Jacobstown. I wasn't paying enough attention so I hadn't expected them to be invisible. Nearly got killed there.

I use the console cheats to play this game, so I thought it was pretty funny when, presented with a cave of invisible night stalkers, i thought, wow, thats pretty scary, and challenging, i then thought screw it and sprayed machine gun grenade fire everywhere to kill everything, even if i didn't see it. Also, after posing with a unique mini gun on black mountain in third person mode, i saw a night kin uncloak and hit me when i was posing, very funny, also everything Raul says, and Raul's unique quest reward, I wont spoil it. And the terrifying presence perk, soo funny, especially when talking to Benny for the first time.

Also
Lily: Jacobstown (Top left of map) (Melee specialist)
Boone: NoVac (Sniper)
Raul: Black Mountain (Gunslinger and repairman)
Arcade: Mormon Fort (Free side) (Energy weapons and doctor)
Rex: Free side (Robo-dog)
ED-E: Prim (Enclave eyebot)
Veronica: Trading post 188 (Melee specialist, walking tool bench)
Cass: Mojave outpost (Bottom left) (Guns specialist and likes whiskey)

And those are all of the companions, enjoy.

I'm still not very far through yet... curse the necessity to work and such. The funniest moment so far has been either the corpse in the refrigerator, and chatting with Cass in the Bunker bar. Also any time I can snipe someone from about a half mile away with my scoped varmit rifle, and their buddy starts looking around all confused.

Scariest moment so far happened right before finding the refrigerator. I was creeping through some buildings, I didn't see anyone on the radar. Then suddenly a NPC spawned and ran right up to me as I turned the corner of a building. It startled me so much I jumped a bit in my chair. He's lucky I didn't have my gun out, because my second reaction was to shoot... Then he went on about the wonders of Blue Star Sasparilla caps...

Close though was last night, I was exploring the plane wreck south of Nipton... Crouched down, scoping out some radscorpions in the distance and deciding to leave them alone for now. Suddenly ED-E's combat music starts playing. I look through my scope again... nope the scorps are just sitting there... What in the word is ED going on about.... OH GOD RADSCORPION CHEWING ON MY LEG!!! Someone one had snuck up from the other direction. It killed ED and then me before I could put it down... Clearly scorpions have a much higher quality of chow here than in DC...

V.A.T.S active: ordered excessive 4 headshot onto a dude like five meters away. First shot hits, but i see Boone running between me and the foe in slow-mo (No... nononono). Second shot: hits enemy, Boone arrives between us. I was just like: PLEASEPLEASE have some HP.

Third shot gets off and BOOM: Critical hit on Boone, and he is dead. I HATE losing my companions. (I normaly load after losing one)

Also i just LOVE Veronica (Too bad i am a man).
"They would have died of natural causes eventualy anyway"
"You want to give me something... IS IT A DRESS?"
"I am just a simple girl with stars in her eyes and a pneumatic powerfist on her arm"

Either I am just lucky, or the whole issue with the crashes must be isolated on the console versions. I have the PC version which runs very smooth with all settings at max on my rig.(A few minor stutters on the Strip, but nothing really incredible) And I haven't had the game crash on me once yet. I've still experienced some of the graphical glitches though, npcs getting caught in rocks, etc...but that was all present in prior Bethesda games like FO3 and Oblivion, so I dont hold any extra hatred towards Obsidian for that matter(fucking up KOTOR is my reason for hostility with them, though that was mostly LucasArts)

OT: Scariest moment would have to be the first time I heard an insect like buzzing sound. I thought to myself, oh yay, more Boatflys for me to slaughter! But, to my dismay, the buzzing did not emanate from a Boatfly, but rather from a swarm of the winged harbingers of death known as Cazadores. Needless to say, my ass was thoroughly kicked on that day.

Funniest moments:
-Running around roflpwning everything i see with my centurion armor and displacer glove.
-Killing people in their sleep with the sand man perk, then positioning them next to their sleeping love ones with their heads cut off.
-Screaming and running in circles when i found the deathclaw promontory.
-And of course my second kill on Legate Lanius(Yes i wanted to kill him twice. He's awesome). he hit me so hard he knocked my rifle out of my hand. Then hit me so hard again that when he knocked me back I glitched through two walls, flew up in the air about 50 feet, then died from falling damage.

Scariest:
-Reading the diary notes at the husbandry farm, then staring at the evil plotting animals.
-...the...I.....the sacrifical chamber in a vault.(22 I believe). Sitting there listening to a calming voice telling me im going to die. Almost shit myself.

Sadly fallout new vegas didnt have the scare factor of fallout 3. There werent as many cool side stories to discover. And the buildings were nowhere near as creepy as the one in fallout 3 with a flashback and the ghoul rituals. And there werent really any bosses wich really dissapointed me. new vegas doesnt need behemoths. It needs something scarier.

BTW, I'm 20 hours in, level 21, and I haven't even been to New Vegas yet. All the locations I've discovered have been pretty centralized...haven't been far East or West yet. Tons more to do in this game than Fallout 3. Especially vanilla.
Dont feel bad! There are so many things to explore, you might wind up not going into Vegas until around 90 hours like I did, lol...

I am really enjoying this game, bugs and all, even more so than Fallout 3.
