Voted "Nay" here.

Loved it in its original running: Seasons 1-3 when it was syndicated on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim (a late night cable cartoon block, for those of you outside the States).

Lost interest fast after it got picked up again by FOX. The humor became less random and more topical, and I started to get the feeling that Seth Macfarlane was using the show as a political platform to occasionally jump up and say, "If you are not a left-wing, atheistic, secular humanist then you are, without question, a self-righteous, closed-minded, ignorant, hatemonger."

Compare that to, say, South Park, where, even when they're mocking things that I believe in, I walk away with the sense that Trey Parker and Matt Stone respect everyone's beliefs, even they think those beliefs are stupid. Not that I'm a huge South Park fan, I'm just using this as a counter-point illustration.

Also, just as a side note...does anyone else totally hate what they did to Brian?

Brian used to be a little bit of a intellectual snob full of wit and a bit of booze...and he was a Dog. That made it funny.

Now he's just this hardcore left wing preach who is clearly just an outlet for the writers to get their political views out there.

To me, Family Guy is like small diamonds embedded in about six feet of cow manure: there are some really good moments there, but the amount of crap you have to wade through to find them generally isn't worth it.

It got very very boring. I just couldn't watch after the first few seasons. Stewie was by far the best character back when he was a evil genius, but when he just turned gay it stopped being at all funny. Some of the later stuff was kinda good, I guess, and Adam West still cracks me up, but I'm going with nay. Now it's just so predictable.
My favorite joke from Adam West

Brian is voiced by Seth MacFarlane, so he's just using the character to express his personal beliefs. Basically, he's acting like the God of his Family Guy universe (though, he doesn't believe in any god)

I could not STAND when they got up on that little soapbox. It's comedy. I don't mind if you bash me for being right-wing, I mind it when you only do that and pass us off as people who should be ignored.

I stoped watching the show because the jokes got stale and I'm tired of being told that my views are eeeevvvviiiillll. Then again, I don't watch much TV any more.

It was great for it's first 5 years. Hit and miss jokes. I think they should just end it now though. The Starwars movies of it were cool.

Needs a "Meh" option. It has the occasional good episode, but it's mostly pretty poor these days.

Needs more clarification. Could take that either way.
let's put it this way: ATHF knows what it is, and doesn't try to be anything else, but family guy is like that dude who pretends to be smart by using big words and talking about politics. it doesn't make him look smart, it just makes him look like a pompous asshole.

Ah. I've never met anyone who just liked it, it's either been utter fandom or they completely loathe it. And yes, pompous asshole is appropriate for anyone responsible for churning out the 'Cavalcade of Comedy' on YouTube.

I used to
the old ones were great, but the show has been stabbed in the gut and is bleeding out slowly, and you wonder if you should watch it die or put it out of its misery...

I really don't like. It just gets too stupid and the jokes are really nothing but the writers just giving up and ripping off anything they can get away with and extend the jokes for wwwaaaaaayyyyyy to long.
Thats everything i had to say and more.
