Haven't read much, but have heard some gnarly things about a Harry Potter series called "My Immortal". According to some, it probably makes Twilight readable (if such a thing were possible). Not only does it insert the queen Sues of all Mary Sues, it basically neglects almost all known facts of the Harry Potter property just to fit the author's twisted vision (of course there is evidence to suggest the author is a troll, due to convenient flacuations in the writing style; think Full Life Consequences, but more obviously bad).

Wow.
That's just....geah.

That guy must be either a Mad Genius or a psycho, because i don't even know how that could work.
Considering just one thing, Ridly is at least 10 times the size of Samus...

I hope i can get that image out of my brain before Metroid:Other M arrives...otherwise im not sure ill be able to play it.

And im gad that pic made ya laugh, iv been waiting for an excuse to use it.
:p
Yeah, he had enough details to explain exactly how all that still worked with all the size difference between both of them. I think as long as you don't actually read that fanfic, you'll still be able to enjoy the game.
lol.
Trust me, i don't plan too.
I completely gave up on Giving fanfics a chance after...the Dark Yagami one actually.
It was horrifyingly bad.

It started a little something like this.
Light:Man life is boring now that iv managed get the police off my trail.
Lights Dad:Light, could you come down stairs?
Light:Mom, Dad, whats wrong?
Lights parents:Son, we have some bad news....
this is your evil twin, Dark Yagami.
*A Dark Light steps out from behind Light's parents*

It was long too.
Didn't read it all though, my Brain was contemplating shutting down about 3 paragraphs in...

Damn. I love the stories like that. I remember one I read where this author wrote a story about Optimus Prime having sex with a cyber-woman. After much drama, they had a baby. Not only did the author write herself in as the cyber-woman, she wrote in her child as the baby. I bet the father is really pleased he had sex with her now. :p
lmfao. I never even thought to look for stuff like that about Transformers. But now I have tons of questions of what they'd even do in those kinds of situations. Like, since they aren't flesh and blood, like humans and animals, I have no idea how alot of that would work in a Transformer's version of it.
There is a pretty freaky R rated Star Wars-Transformers cross-over. I don't know how much detail I can go into with the rules but let's just say R2D2 goes into Optimus Prime's most private (you'd hope) place and finds a great hall with photos of every thing (human and robot) that has ever been in there.

What makes erotic Transformer fanfics more fun is if you think about this scene:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5HaHy87ILM&feature=related
lmao. So inside Optimus Prime, is a museum of everyone he's slept with? That's crazy. I swear I might start reading fanfics just to see how insane some people get with these kinds of ideas.
My favourite part of that story is that the author never says that R2D2 got out. I guess he's going to be the museum tour guide now!

Hahaha!
Its also pretty funny that Lights Dad would let someone he knows is Evil in his house and interact with his son.

That's some good parenting.
:p

Nope, I've yet to see a fanfiction that isn't some horrible slash fiction or some shitty OC Mary Sue fiction, or some horribly shitty shipping fiction.

No sense of character development (most characters change personalities to accomidate the writer's lack of talent, or their fantasies) People have sex for no reason. Couples break up or get together, or some new character comes right the hell outta nowhere and is the greatest person EVAR!

Not all fanfics are like that, just 99.999999999999999% of them.

I'm not one of those "fan fiction is all really awful, indicates the stupidity of the human race, and brings us down further people"-- I partly get where they're coming from but not entirely, I just have no interest in it at all.

i dont personally like much of it some is entertaining but i work on an each to her own understanding therefore have to state that it is not pointless as it is written by some who finds enjoyment in writing and is probably being read by some one who likes reading it

Some fan-fiction is right up there in quality with regular published fiction. These are the ones where you're reading it and say "Why hasn't this person gotten published yet?" However, most is crap. I don't read much of it, personally, and I avoid fan-fiction sites or groups. I do read some fan-fiction my friends or acquaintances write, though.

I've read a bit of fanfiction and find most of it to contain Mary Sues or be a crossover. I've only ever read one I actually sort-of liked and it was about Avatar: the Last Airbender (and I only did that because there was nothing else to do during that awful 6 month hiatus period near the end of the last season).

Depends, do these qualify as Fan-fiction?

If so, then done right (like my links) they can be awesome.
I was gonna mention Full-Life consequences, simply as a so-bad-it's good kind of thing. That is comedy GOLD right there!
You want so-bad-it's-good comedy gold? Read My Immortal (look it up...).

Paraphrased from a smarter guy "Fanfiction is the corrective response of a culture when all of it's mythology is owned by corporations."

Some is good. Some is bad. Some is frikkin' amazing.

Love the stuff! It's great to see creative unprofessionals write down all the intersting ideas of characters in already established universes.
"Ultra-personalizing the character definitions of the established storyverse." A great man once said that. Still want L4D2 stolen pixels...

Only if it's written by Peter Chimaera. Otherwise, no. Fanfiction is very, very bad. Like, kill it with fire bad. Stab forks into my eyes bad. Etc.

"Giant greats!" He exscreamed! But it was too late and they got sucked in. His plan didn't work.

Just wanted to get people thoughts on fanfics.
I think fanfiction is at it's best when it borrows a setting without borrowing the characters from that setting. I think it's at it's worst when it borrows the characters and tries to place them in a new setting.
