it would be unfair of me to vote honestly in that poll, so i won't.
personally, i think part of being humanitarian is offering help to those who ask for it. a lot of us fat people don't want help, so they don't ask for it, and nobody should feel obliged to give it to them. fat people have a right to be fat, and we should be respected for that.
i also think it's unfair for people to assume that fat people are unhealthy. i've personally been fat for most of my life (and not pretend fat where you might weigh 5kg more than your mates or something. i'm talking proper fat here), regardless of how healthy or unhealthy i am, how much or how little i exercise, etc. my situation is remarkably similar to that of thin people who have been thin for most of their lives, regardless of their habits. some fat people (not all fat people, but some of them) are fat because they can't be anything else. And it's horrible that many of the thin people in this world can't seem to get that into their heads.
it's also worth noting that some of the other fat people out there have trouble with eating as a whole. either as a result of having always been overweight and wanting to change it, or thinking that they are overweight, trying to change it and becoming overweight as a result, or for some other reason. it's obviously not only fat people who are affected by eating troubles. what interests me is that people who are unbearably thin or of a normal weight, and have eating problems, are given love, support, caring and sympathy by loved ones and strangers alike, while us fat people are just rudely ordered to "put down the fork".
