and IMPERIALS. I owe my loyalty to the Imperials.
Imperial Terrans just kick ass.

Actually aboot a third of the races are humans. The races are classified as Men (Imperials, Redguards, Nords and I think Bretons (They are like half human half elf or something) Mer (High, Dark, and Wood elves) and beast men or something similar (Argonians and Kajhiit)
Orcs are Mer too

I have a soft spot for Imperial Humans.
so the ones who aren't Imperial are not my favourites.

Argonians hands down.

I mean, they have City Swimmer!
Im my game, When I walked into town once, the guards chased the city swimmer into me. The city swimmer stopped and the guards killed it :( It as a sad moment in gaming history.
There's something in her AI, iirc.

I believe its an issue involving theft. Yes, the AI is under the same rules as the player for the most part.

I do like the Dunmer a fair bit, I guess they just look evil.

Did the fellow dunmer at the start threaten to rape your wife?
Yes, which made it all the more fun to gut him later.

So, Dunmer. Best for the most effective TES custom class (most effective of all classes, actually), the spellsword. Destruction magic, heavy armour and blades. Or if we want to go to Morrowind, long blade and medium armour.

I like the Bretons, personally--they make kickin' mages, which is my preferred play style.

I dig Argonians, personally. They can breathe underwater and are immune to poison. Meaning that you have 2 less things to worry about. And they have cool names, like Runs-In-Circles and Big Head.
and they are actually the weakest race and because the elder scrolls is epic but un-challenging
they are awesome. i also picked then after hearing the a conversation in the dark brotherhood when my mate first got it. "argonians born under the sign of the shadow are instantly taken into the night mothers embrace as shadowscales" but alas... this only happens in the black marsh -sniff_... oh well i guess im gonna have to kill an npc to get into an awesome faction.. oh woe-est me

I've always gone High Elf with mages in Oblivion, Breton in Morrowind.

I always end up playing Nords, because all other flavors of human are just too frail and breakable by comparison. My only full playthrough of Morrowind was a Bosmer, though. They have a nice Legend of Zelda vibe.

My latest Oblivion character is a stealthy Argonian named Kills-with-Hands. He's quite...Thane-inspired.

Bosmer, I love playing as a stealthy archer assassin.

Khajiit and Argonian are a tie for a second close, the former because they also fit the stealthy role greatly while looking cool, and the latter because, as it has been said, underwater breathing and poison immunity make everything easier, and I like their character design too. The disease immunity is supposedly good, except I like vampirism and it makes it harder to become a vampire.

I'll play anything that isn't argonians or cats. The stupid animal hybrids are silly and underpowered too.
The Khajiit are cool man. In fact I wish I chose them instead for the extra stealth bonus as I played a thief/rogue type.

Incidentally, the combat tends to be a bit annoying.

Vampirism was such a waste for me. Especially when you can't fast travel at day time and most of the important quest people only hang out at daytime.

Don't start me on that cure either!

Sorry about the double-post.
