Personally, I like RPGs the best because it seems like you can always become stronger and better, and I like the idea of continuous self-improvement. RPGs always seem to me to have the best storylines, and they inspire in me deeper fandom, such as classics like Tales of Symphonia, some of the better Final Fantasies, and both Lufias. RPGers DO wish they were someone else, but who doesn't want to lead an adventurous life free from boredom in a whole world waiting to be explored?

Well, duh RPGs tend to have the best stories. If someone were to tell me that they think the story to GoW is the greatest human epic in history, I'd have to laugh at them till I laughed myself into a coma. Only reason FPSes have a story is to have something to tie together the shooty fun. RPGs, however, need a compelling story to keep people playing, since usually the combat gets tedious after a while with a repetitive cycle (Especially if combat is turn based. And yeah, playing as a galactic peace-keeper (Ala Spectre in Mass Effect or a Jedi in KOTOR), or some other great hero, is a lot more interesting than normal life, wherein the biggest excitement you might have in a day is a humorous event at work or school.

The one that makes the most sense is the all of them have pluses. I would change this to which one has the most popularity. Which I believe to be FPS and RPG

I chose FPS but only because I have more FPS than any other genre. I am a huge fan of RTSs and RPGs as well. And I do love my Turn-based strategy games! Really, I'm all over the board, like I'm sure nearly all gamers are. But, my favourite game is a FPS (Halo series, actually. Whatev) so I decided to go with that. I'll prob regret that later. I'm very moody. :p

No genre is necessarily superior to any other genre. I spend most of my time with FPSs and RPGS but that's just me.

I don't believe there is a "best". My favorite traditionally would have been FPS, but these days I lean towards the RPG/RTS side of things.

I mostly like RTS games. Them being the games I am best at as well as the ones I enjoy the most. FPS games are my second favorite game though.

Probably should have just had a Strategy option. Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20.

I have a hard time deciding if RTS or FPS is the best genre in my opinion.
FPS is the most over done genre with like fifty billion games out that still have space solders with magical powered armour. but they also give joy when you run into a room with a minigun and puree every one inside.

RTS is pretty good but they have a problem that most of the time the enemy is omnipresent and can build every ting on the list of stuff to build make a squad of tanks and fire four dozen nukes at you before you have build your barracks. you can help this by having an AI friend but then you feel like the sidekick because your friend has already destroyed half their base by the time you are ready to fight.

I can't really say if I'm a PC gamer or console gamer. Play both a lot. Granted, it's mostly RTSes for the PC, but still. One thing I can't stand are console-tards who can't admit that another console has pluses to it. The Wii is a good casual gamer platform, the 360 is an overall well rounded console, & the PS3 might be for the more hardcore gamers. But now I'm getting off topic.

It varies depending on my mood, but I'm a fan of adventure games and JRPGs. Not Western RPGs so much because of the illusion of choice that they inevitably give you. I'd rather a tabletop game over a WRPG. JRPGs don't bother with that pretense and give me what I find to be a much more rewarding experience, generally speaking. I also love Tactical RPGS in the vein of Fire Emblem and FF Tactics Advance.

Turn based strategy.
Seconded. If I had to pick a favourite I'd say Advance Wars or Civilisation.

Out of that list, I think RPGs are my favourite. I probably play FPS more often, but that's for the social nature of it; the games I remember the most fondly tend to be RPGs.
