I like em all

RTS: Warcraft,Starcraft,C&C
RPG: Fallout,WoW,Mass Effect
FPS: Halo,Resistance,FarCry
Racing: FullAuto,Burnout,Mario Kart
Fighting: SoulCaliber
Casual: HarvestMoon,Pokemon, Viva Pinata
Puzzle: Flashgames

I know people wouldn't agree with me but that's their problem - I couldn't care less if people hated Halo or Pokemon. And I don't even let my friends bring me down about the games I play, they've finally come to realise that I'm still super awesome even if I do like Viva Pinata; if only my brother would stop laughing because I like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, especially seeing as he used to steal Pokemon Emerald from my room every morning so that he could play with his friends at college

Why do people keep pointing out that genre X isn't on the poll? YES, I know I missed some genres! STOP POINTING IT OUT!

RPGs for single player, shooters for online player, and RTS games for a balance of both.

Casual is not a genre. There are plenty of casual games in different genres.

I've really gone back to old school gametypes myself: fighting games, shmups, point 'n click adventure games. The latest FPS and RPG games don't interest me that much currently since all of them feel very similar to each other. RTS games are nice but I tend to suck at them so I only play them when I really don't mind getting the snot beat out of myself. Sports and racing games never interested me that much, really doesn't matter if it's arcade or not.

I like Action-adventure games like Devil May Cry, God of War, and Metal Gear Solid. I like games where you have to move the character more than just walking in a first person perspective with your gun at your hip. To me, controlling your character apart from just killing people is equally important.

But when it comes to straight-up violence, I like my Street Fighters and Soul Caliburs.

Action/Adventure

Out of that list though, they all have their positives and I play all of them from time to time. Though FPS is my least favourite.

I don't understand how anyone can restrict him or herself to one single genre. For fast action and great visuals, I turn to shooters. Intelligent, moving games with significant depth and meaningful stories are the domain of role-playing games. Strategy and puzzle games are excellent for more casual, slow-paced play. For raw, unadulterated, sophisticated fun, I never second-guess picking up an action-adventure or platform game.
