Give me the Mauler/Fencer Elite armor from Valkyria Chronicles 2 any day man. Tank shells? Meh, only the kinetic force of it will hurt me. Bullets? HAH, they bounce off like skittles! Blasts from a Valkyrian Lance? Might leave me with quite the bad bruise/shatter a bone, but I'll be fine...

Well, of the options given though, I'd probably go with the Nanosuit, just because of the stealth capability...

interesting lineup, i imagine the nanosuit is the most advanced in terms of tactical options, however it's probably the most squishy aswell
It's not that the nanosuit is squishy, it's that people are.

based on what i see here, i think i'd pick the imperial power armour purely because if someone in a nano-suit tried to stealth-kill me he'd have a face full of hmg goodness or just be crushed like a bug i mean the damn thing has jaws of life for fingers for cryi'n out loud
Why would a nanosuit operator try to kill you if he can avoid you altogether?

the nano-suit cannot survive falls of more than about 2 floors unless you impact something to dampen the fall, cannot take punches to the face ( from normal people ) small arms fire and is eaten alive by sniper and hmg rounds and is crippled entirely by tazers because the electrical impulses that control it constrict the microfibres and crush the occupier
all of those examples are cannon in the games so-far

i do not see this as a stable weapons platform

sure, a nano-suit operator can sneak past you if you are not paying attention but to what end?
killing someone in their sleep when they take off their armour is hardly an indication that you have the better equipment
that's just following the art of war mantra of the only way to win the fight is to avoid it
Sure, but if anything being in a gigantic heavy set of armor would only lessen your chances of survival. Surviving a fall is all about dissipating the energy over the longest time possible. The nanosuit is in this regard the best armor of all, consisting of synthetic muscle and not being very heavy.

The key would be the ratio of the strength of synthetic muscles/servos to the suit's weight. The higher it is, the higher your chances of surviving a long fall.

And sure, the nanosuit is vulnerable to small arms fire but if a suit of armor has enough armor to become fully invulnerable to it then it's still vulnerable to anti-tank weaponry and explosives while losing a lot of mobility.

Tough call before the Power Suit (preferably, the Gravity Suit) or the N7 armor...

So I'll compromise and say 'Power Suit with the N7 design'.

Doesn't look like much, but it changes appearance depending on your level in certain skills. I'm not sure any other armour does that.

I've always been partial to the T-45d myself. It just looks the most like "powered armor".

the relationship between this armor and Dogmeat is frickin' awesome, and they never should have done away with it in the new games...

Gotta go with the Power Suit, specifically the Gravity Suit upgrade.

Sure, the original Power Suit is cool, and the Varia Suit is definitely a force to be reckoned with, but once you have the Gravity Suit, you know that you're damn near unstoppable. By increasing your defensive rating to an even greater degree and cancelling out heat damage/water resistance, it eliminates what few vulnerabilities the Varia Suit had.
Curses! I have been outposted! Gravity Suit all the way!

Or this

Technically it hasn't been said before. Imperial Tactical Dreadnought armour. This stuff is like Space Marine powered armour on steroids. It's fully sealed, has enough scanners and sensors to make an observation post jealous, it has an inbuilt life support system, it allows it's wearer to fire weapons normally found on tanks and this thing can take an anti-tank missile and protect it's occupant from any damage.

This stuff basically turns it's wearer into a walking heavy tank. And that's just the base model...

It's on the box for good reason.
God that looks nice.

Anyway I would say the HEV suit.

The 40k power armor looks like something a pansie who couldnt stop an alien invasion with a crowbar, so he has to compensate.
Oh yea I said it

It's always going to be the MJOLNIR armor for me, it just works so well. Although, with the release of Skyrim I think it will become the Nordic armor shown on the previewed character. It's SOOOOOOO cool.

I would go with the modified ironman suit from the second movie, but only if it has the shoulder guns and wrist missile that the original ironman suit has.

Oh...so many good choices. I like this thread. I would have to go with the T-51b since I am and have always been a fallout fanboy. HEV suit would be a close second, though.

This is my favorite version of the power suit,it's just always looked awesome to me.

OT: My favorite here is the power suit because you can upgrade it with anything to make it better, though it does have the tendency to lose all it's upgrades between games, but that's mostly Samus's fault for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. (Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime are my examples when explaining this)

Probably have to go with Samus' classic Varia suit:
http://www.advancedanime.com/pictures/normal_iwai_ryo.jpg
Its so iconic, and could be argued as being the original power armor that every other power armor was spawned off of.
The Mjollnir armor is pretty badass too, increasing the physical abilities of a Spartan by a factor of 5-25 in every regard, but it doesn't have the dexterity and movement capabilities of Samus' suit.

Of those choices, definitely the MJOLNIR armor just because of its famous features. I still think Stormtrooper armor is the most iconic though because it known worldwide and again because of its famous and iconic features such as the helmet and colours.
