I convert all enemy units/buildings and relocate them to my base. Since most converter units are monks and priets and stuff, I guess I'd call myself a Jehoba's witness when it comes to RTSes

I played a lot of Starcraft for my senior year of high school and all I can say is I loved playing a macro zerg when everyone else was a turtle.

I'm definetly a turtle, I like to build up a strong defense, where my enemies are crushed and than counterattack with my advanced troops

I send a few parties to explore the map and kill a few of the enemy's units, then gather lots of resources, fill the screen with soldiers and tanks then steamroll from one side to the other.

I can't really vote in this poll, because the option of "sit in one spot, suck a lot, and die horribly" isn't available for guys like me. >_>;

Of course there's always the skillfully lulzy times where I've won by flying 12 barracks into my enemy's base and landing them and starting to make M+M as I push from the front with my mech...
I love doing things like that occasionally in AoE 2. I call it "Obnoxious Turtle" style.

"What? I'm a turtle, I'm building high-defense castles and bombard towers. I just like building them really, really close to you."

You would have laughed at how I (and several competitive profession human players) played Warcraft 3.

I swear, the guard tower was the mainstay of my army.

I can imagine it. And it is good. ^_^

Hell, half the reason I love the Spanish civilization in that game (AoE, not Warcraft) so much is because their unique technology turns the villagers into decent fighters. Send them in, beat the snot out of anything you encounter, and build castles while your opponent is figuring out what the heck you're doing!

(The other half is really really fast-firing ship cannons.)

My gaming background is in city-builders and trade sims. When I play RTS, I'm a huge proponent of the Most Toys approach. Building resource-gathering operations, getting them up and running, then building a gigantic army/ICBM/I Win Button and steamrolling the enemy...that's the fun in RTS for me.

In C&C, which is the only RTS I plat, I run a resource whore/Aggressive expansion/super weapon. I set up an economy that gives me enough money to not only pump out an ungodly amount of weapons, but also continue to build up reserves. While all this is going on I'm burning money on my technology tree so I can capture enemy bases and take their tech as well. once I have all three factions all upgraded, I build superweapons, and bomb the final bases to hell.

I voted for the violent settler. Most of the time my play style is very aggressive. I try to raid the enemy as soon as possible, denying them access to resources and putting them into a defending mindstate.

I love stealing enemy bases.
It's really fun on the Red alert 2 games since you can mix some of the different armies Technologies
I'd love to see more RTS with this

I like to switch is up a lot, even during a match. I'll usually go for a quick rush attack. Depending on how my opponent reacts I may keep the pressure on with light rush attacks, begin a turtling tech-up routine, or start building a steamroll army. My build-queues and resource management are pretty terrible, but I'm very good in combat.

Basically I suck at strategy, but I'm good at tactics. I almost never have more losses than kills, even when I lose the match.

Give me Age Of Empires 2, Medieval 2: Total war and Command & Conquer: Red Alert and I'll be playing for weeks on end. So I guess that makes me a resources whore.

I'm better at playing a support roll with a team then anything else. I like to have a fast moving but strong units that can go where they need to if my allies need help. For example in Halo Wars I like to be either Anders so I can bring in a large scale air attack on bases while my allies deal with the ground forces or I will send in Suicide ODST sqauds if I am Cutter.

In others RTS(s?) such as C&C 3 TW I favor what I call the "American" strategy. I build up a large air force as well as artillery units and make sure I have every available off screen weapon. I then procede to pummel enemy bases into oblivion with airstrikes and artillery barrages until I believe it is safe enough to send a few ground units to clear out any last pockets of resistance.
