So I decided to get on the Skyrim bandwagon and post something about The Elderscrolls that I thought would have some discussion value. These figures are pulled from Oblivion but I believe they were the same in Morrowind and might be the same in Skyrim they aren't in Skyrim.
What is your favourite birthsign overall? For a specific class?
There's not enough options in the polls so some have been arbitarily merged.
I personally avoid the attribute enhancing ones, because as awesome as they are they basically disappear once you've gotten to a high level. The thief is the exception for my rogue-like characters, the speed and agility is obviously useful. But the Luck boost is fantastic, its basically ten levels of luck straight from the start and it has all its internal effects that help you without you noticing (crits and loot).
For mages I usually take the Mage, because it's a magicka boost that remains throughout the whole game. The Astronach is useful for High Elves with their elemental weaknesses but lack of regen sucks. The Appentice is decent for Bretons has their 50% resist magick helps offset the weakness. But the mage is great for having no downsides.

Personally I love the Atronach, straight out of the gates and you're immune to 50% of magic, it's really easy to build a magic absorbing build with some items that makes you 100%resistant. I use it mainly for pure Warriors as they don't need the magicka. The ritual is tempting though for its emergency heal and defense against the undead (my least favourite enemies).Apprentice
