I've no idea what to think. It's one of those bizarre cases where you are left mind-blown that people can be this sickening and at the same time fascinating. If she turned herself in, then she's obviously realized that there's something wrong. If she was reported, then she still needs help. I can't really say without talking to all parties here. I'm just too weirded out. WTF.

Well both involve people doing somthing that the law say you cant do butthey really wanted to and it felt so right so they kept doing it. Eventully both epople got caught and are being punished for their actions.

Hitler had people backing him and you know overthrowing the government..global war....genocide of people...
but if you want to vaguely compare it to a boy who got laid early i suppose your can because both hitler and the girl/boy "wanted it" but doesnt everybody want something?

Yea okay... if its true that they had a consensual relationship for six months then I don't think she should be charged for the sex. However, she should be charged for giving the child alcohol underage, as well as underage purchasing and possession as the legal age is 21. The age for children having sex is alot younger this day in age than it was 10 or 20 years ago. Hell i had sex when I was 14, I don't regret it either, and I know that the majority of my classmates at that age were sexually active (perhaps still virgins but active nonetheless)

Even if the genders were reversed my answer would be the same, if consensual (and they need to be able to prove it, even a private confession from the 14-year old away from all their family to try and ensure complete honesty) then screw the statutory rape charges, but the substance abuse charged should be kept.

Did that all even make sense to anyone?

It all depends on the kids view personally, if he agreed, and not like, forcibly agreed, I don't really care.

If she got him drunk to do it, that's pretty low. She's not a bad looking girl. Seriously, if she wanted to get laid that badly, just pop into any LAN party, I'm sure they're more than willing, and will have just as much experience as the 14 year-old.

If it was the other way around then sure but in this case a fine would be more appropriate.

because if the genders were flipped in this situation, the 14 year old girl is a lot less likely to give consent to a 19 year old man. It`s just a whole lot more likely a situation where if a man was the offender he forced the underage girl to do it. At 14 you as a boy not looking for girls your age unless they have "develop" much faster than the other girls. Any 14 year old straight boy would have had sex with a good looking 19 year female babysitter without the need to be liqoured up. This is a fact. I know I would have. I know all my male friends would have. At 14 you also know what statutory rape is unless Sex Ed and your parents are incompetent. So it's not like this 14 year old boy didn't know that there was laws against this.

And I?m sure the girl knew the law as well but that doesn?t change the fact that she?s 19 and he?s 14.

A decent amount of European countries let boys marry at 12. Not saying that what she did was right but we have to realize that human sexual biology is going to win out in most cases. They both knew the law. They both knew the consequences. But when it comes down to it a 14 year boy presented with sex is going to take the offer.
