I prefer watching baseball, but when there is no baseball on, The World Cup will be.

Oh god, cannot stand the football, not a sports fan at all really.

I'll be in the corner with a cup of tea and Pokemon Heart Gold, care to join?

Wait what football are we talking about?
If it's Soccer, then I hate it
If it's Australian Football, then I detest it
If it's American Football, then I loathe it
Neutral on Canadian and Gaelic Football?
Thought Canadian and American Football were the same?
Difference are similar to Rugby Union and Rugby League differences.

Well done you don't like it...was this really worthy of a thread?

/thread.

You are asking on a, pardon my French, nerd/geek/dork-board, whether or not people like football? Obviously a lot of people will say no because they don't like sports period.
As someone suggested previously in this thread, it's like asking on a football forum whether or not they like RPG-games.

Yes, I love football, given that I'm not rubbish at sports(like I imagine the majority here) and therefore haven't had my view of sports ruined because I sucked while playing as a kid.

I love football. Woohoo(or whatever the vote-option is) for football.

I'll say it's alright. My teams didn't qualify (Canada or Turkey) this year, so it's not as cool as it was last time.

Really man, take a look at the thread and take your best guess as to which kind of football it is.

For me F1 takes priority over football.

I like international Football tournaments, but I hate Footballers, bunch of whiney pampered babies.
F1 is for sissies, rally is for the tough guys.

I agree with the last part though.

Low scores, nothing REALLY happens for 80% of the game, its like baseball. Did you see the US UK game? first score in the first 4 minutes then nothing until the US ties it up making it a HUGE waste of time along with the most fucking annoying buzzing Ive ever heard.

I hate it so much. So so much due to being England, I am bombarded with it constantly; such patriotism and belief that we can win! Which we can't... just take Japan and USA matches we officially suck. /rant about England.
Football in general however is sooo boring to watch, low score, men jumping on the floor because they got tapped? I mean come on they just act like pussies. It is really not entertaining to me to watch; to play sure it's good fun. But to watch it's got nothing on the Olympics or more fast paced sports like Rugby. (Not American football i find that also dull to watch as there is so many breaks, at least in Rugby people carry on after a flipping tackle.)

Anyway tl:dr version Goddamn Boring to watch

I live in England and let me say this; I hate football, I hate the hysteria, I think most people who claim to "hate football but love the World Cup" are bandwagoneering posers, and most of all, our team is a group of over-paid, over-idolized, uneducated sex offenders.

And the next person I hear shout 'come on England!' in front of me, I'll punch them in the throat. Stop yelling, they can't hear you, and if they could they probably wouldn't care, they get paid whether they win or not.

That's just my opinion though...

You realise there's not really that much money in it, playing for your country? Especially not compared to the contracts the players are on already. And no, you are wrong: Players get more money out of it if they proceed beyond the group-stage, and then money for each advancing beyond that point as well.

How is the England team consisting of sex-offenders then? And I'd value it was just your random opinion that they are both overpaid and over-idolized.

I can easily follow your view on the "Hate football love WC"-people though. I agree. "Bandwagoneering posers".

The only sports I really watch is the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Euro Cup, the Winter Olympics and the Stanley Cup if the Oilers are in it (so almost never). Even then I don't watch it religiously; I still haven't watched a match of the World Cup because I could care less if it isn't Switzerland or Germany playing.

I would watch more football if they broadcast the Swiss league games in Canada... But even then, they'd be on at like 6 a.m., on a channel that costs $10/month. No thanks.

By the way, I'm speaking about soccer, not American/Canadian/whatever Football which is one of the most boring sports in the world, right after baseball and golf.
