Do you mean American Football? in that case, I love it.
English/rest of world football? Meh. I neither hate it nor enjoy it. 55 minutes without a single goal seems a bit boring to me.

One of my peers asked me why I didn't like football. I asked him why he did. He said it was exciting. I asked him exactly what part of it he found exciting. He hasn't got back to me.

I read the OP, but from what I saw the only point of the thread is for the guy to get clarification that football is rubbish from other people. Its like when MW2 came out there was hundreds of threads from people who obviously didn't like it wanting their opinions backed up from other people who didn't like it.

Took me a moment to realize the poll was asking about soccer, I thought it was weird that somebody was mentioning football at this time of year... Which probably tells you how much of a crap I give about the World Cup. Football (international usage) seems a lot like basketball except it's slower and the fouls are even more ridiculously exaggerated. At the same time there's not much infrastructure needed to play it and I like how accessible it is economically, just need a ball and a field.

This is a horrible generalization, but among my friends you can sort watching the world cup by how many generations their families been in the U.S.

I don't care that much for the sport. It just never interested me, my grandfather and uncles love to watch it though.

I admire the physical endurance it takes to play the sport, it's just boring as fuck to watch.

Plus, the whole mindset stateside, for you international folk here, is to raise kids to play the game without hurting each others' feelings by ending the game in ties. Even if one team is clearly better than the other, they'll take all of the good kids out if they score a goal. That's why most of us don't take the game seriously.
