I don't see how Harry Potter can have gone on too long since it's seven books, the last of which came out something like three years ago.
Twilight is 4 books and films so again, hardly too long.
Star Wars is a huge universe and so there are a lot of areas to create new things. The Old Republic being a good example.
James Bond has just had it's next film announced as being axed and to be honest, each film isn't even that linked to the last so I don't see why it would need to end as long as they can make them good. It isn't like they are dragging on a pointless story.
Most Anime tend to be too long, Death Note should have ended at the point the live action films did. Although Manga tends to be worse, if Elfen Lied had been as long as the Manga it'd be around 50 episodes as opposed to 13.
I agree with Death Note. It should have ended when *spoilers* L died *end spoilers* (old spoilers are old).
Elfen Lied was decent all the way through, for what it was.
Inuyasha dragged on for way too long.
DBZ had too much filler action.
Naruto had too much filler.
D.Grey-Man pretty much stopped when it got interesting/mind-fucktastic.
Enough anime.
James Bond hasn't lived out its niche as far as I'm concerned. There's no arcing plot involved and as such each entry can be considered a stand-alone project.
Harry Potter's seven books and seven movies makes sense.
So does -urgh- Twilight with four books and four movies. However, Twilight is so damn terrible it shouldn't be made in the first place.
Shrek should have been one movie only.
Movies based on older cartoons need to die in a fire. Alvin and the Chipmunks, I'm looking at you. I'm also not looking forward to the terror that will be the Smurfs.
