Saw, Final Fantasy, Scream, those stupid games like Guitar Hero (Blergh), Mario, Sonic and Call of Duty. :) To name but a few...

Everything has gone on for too long. Everything is a sequel. Nothing is new anymore. Look at all the new games coming out for example. Gears of War 3, Fable 3, Crackdown 2, Dead Rising 2, Call of Duty 6, Halo 4... Do i really need to go on?

The amount of sequels and franchises that are kept alive long after their expiry date is sickening. It's the same with movies. Everything seems to be a sequel or rehash. Shrek 4? For the love of God, let it die already.

I realise people want to pump money into what they already know is going to be successful but christ in heaven have SOME innovation. You can't just spew out the same rehashed garbage month after month.

Saw for movies, there is no good reason for it to still be going.

More appropriately for this site, Nintendo's plethora of zombie games. After the last two FF games I'm gonna have to say those too, as much as it pains me (although I have hopes for Versus).

Star Wars.

It went on too long as soon as George Fucking Lucas decided on The Phantom Menace. The prequels will probably be used to demonstrate how director vanity and camera masturbation are not good movie making techniques after Lucas has kicked the bucket.

Naruto and Bleach. Both of them have gone for several hundred episodes too long.

Shreck or how-ever you spell the ogre's name.
Shreck the 3rd was pushing it, now, it just needs to die.
thank you. It's sorta sad to see a film that was so interesting if not good COMPLETELY sell out. Thank Xenu Toy Story 3 didn't. Or so I heard. Then again, that's Pixar, who are clearly wonderful people that plant flowers and trees every day in the back garden and singlehandedly prevent a nuclear war destroying th Earth every day. Thanks, Pixar.

There's a series of albums called "Now (That's What I Call Music)" which is essentially a mixtape of random pop songs that somehow has a strong enough budget to advertise in modern media.

Somehow it's reached 34 albums and shows no sign of stopping.

Dragon Ball. It was good... until Vegeta went Super Saiyan. See, Goku was supposed to be this super-badass, which made going Super Saiyan so special. And then it was like, Nope! New villain. And THEN it was like, nope! Goku will be utterly useless now, 'cuz his son is about a billion time better than him. Of course, Gohan's growth was kind of intresting... then Toriyama pulled Buu out of his ass.

I picked anime simply because of Case Closed. Just end it already!

Twilight.

I know I haven't read the books or nothing, but the sort of fandom I'm seeing on it scares me.

Also, Tomb Raider, I don't know why these games keep selling well, every one of them I've played sucked horribly, just the 2nd Tomb Raider was 1 too many.

I somewhat agree with Yahtzee when he says sequels should be banned, but to a lesser degree. I think every medium (Game, Movie, Whatever.) should be aloud two sequels, but no spinoffs. This way we can still have epic series like Lotr, Starwars and the like without having to see the 42nd sequel to every semi-popular game that comes out.

OT: Like someone already posted, pretty much everything Nintendo. Another Metroid, Zelda AND Mario??? I think the lead idea creator at Nintendo may either have short term memory loss, or be in some kind of temporal time loop.

None.As long as someone is entertained by them, then I see no reason to stop them.No matter how much I dislike said franchise.

I don't see how Harry Potter can have gone on too long since it's seven books, the last of which came out something like three years ago.

Twilight is 4 books and films so again, hardly too long.

Star Wars is a huge universe and so there are a lot of areas to create new things. The Old Republic being a good example.

James Bond has just had it's next film announced as being axed and to be honest, each film isn't even that linked to the last so I don't see why it would need to end as long as they can make them good. It isn't like they are dragging on a pointless story.

Most Anime tend to be too long, Death Note should have ended at the point the live action films did. Although Manga tends to be worse, if Elfen Lied had been as long as the Manga it'd be around 50 episodes as opposed to 13.

I said or are just too annoying, look up a weird twilight memrabillia thread.
Are you a teenage girl? Not saying only they can like it but they are the target audience and so just because non-teenage girls dislike it doesn't mean there is something wrong with it.

It'd be like me saying leg razors shouldn't exist because I don't need or want one. While that's the case, there are a lot of women (and guys I guess) who are quite happy they exist.
I'm not a teenage girl, I just don't like the whole thing as the girls in my class whom I sit next to always bang on about twilight.

My head hurts everytime I hear that word.
