Go for it provided you won't make it huge. Put it in a tasteful location where you can cover it with clothing if you are in a formal situation.

I am going to get a Zapdos tattoo sometime soon. Yeah XD

Somebody has bought me an early christmas present (very early in fact) which is a few hours in a tatoo parlour. I have always wanted to get a tattoo so I was very pleased indeed. Having had a lot of time to think about what I might get I realised that I want something that will look good when I get old and wrinkly, I wanted it to be ambiguous and it to show of something I love, so my first thought turned to gaming. I chose this as it is from one of my favourite game series and fulfills my criterion.

So, do you think this is a good tattoo idea?

Have you ever wanted a game related tattoo? What would you have?
Have you already got one?

Some of my rejected ideas are the Paragon symbol from Mass Effect and the Tri-force.
why not
? Same vein, different time, more simplicity.

I just wouldn't do this, ever.

Whilst It may be "awesome" and "cool" now, later on it'll just look retarded. If you lose interest in the particular game or games in general, you'll feel every bit the fool.

if I were getting a gaming tat, I'd probably get Delta's delta symbol. (Delta from BioShock 2). Maybe a Lambda. Hell, maybe a pokeball.

Other than maybe a triforce I wouldn't get a gaming tattoo, but if you really like the assassins creed symbol, go for it.

It looks cool.

I plan on getting the Triforce with olive branches around it on my arm next year when I'm 18. I have nothing against video game tattoos, but I recommend adding something to it to really make it yours. When I think of the Triforce in my design I think of the balance of Power, Wisdom, and Courage, and then the olive branches represent peace. Just make sure that you are really happy with the design before you commit to it.

I think a maze on your back would be awesome. A big one, with the twists and turns creating some sort of meaningful cipher. Like, how many lefts and rights it takes to get to the center creates two numbers, or on the first correct turn, the false turns until the next correct turn are added to make the first number, and so on.

Anyone who has considered getting an Assassin's Creed tattoo has probably had the idea before, and I'd be willing to bet money on the fact that someone ALREADY did it.
you do realize this applies to almost everything. i dont know a thing about your tattoo and i can safely say its been done before. im also pretty sure that there's a helluva lot less people sporting assassin's creed tats than (yet again) chinese symbols. :)

OASN, I didnt mention your 100+ hours of work nor did I at any time imply that it included stuff off my list. if you feel your tattoo will go unappreciated you could simply post a picture instead of regurgitating the same shit as if somebody else brought it up. we got it ~~ 100 hours, ALL custom ~~ can we move on?

If you don't have plans for extensive work that adds to a thriving artistic community, don't do it
This is some ridiculous shit, brother. :) Maybe some people don't want to spend 100 hours on a tattoo. Maybe they don't wanna get a tattoo the size of a bed spread or one that can be seen from a fucking mile away. Or maybe they really don't give a shit about the 'thriving artistic community' (which is just a bullshit term for people with better than average drawing skills) ~~ I get the fact youre into tattoos and have a lotta friends working in the field, and I respect that, but don't you for a second think that the majority of people that get tattoos regard the tattooist as an artist or give a shit about their feelings, ideas or integrity.

You pay the guy to draw a damn goat on your forehead and he'll do it cos he loves him some money and thats how the world works.
Your statements baffle me. I'm not sure why, but I seem to have struck some sort of nerve. It was not my intention. Now it is.

Don't get me wrong...you are partially correct in all of your assumptions. You claim to have never seen my tattoos, but can safely assume that they've been done before. It's not true, but you're more than welcome to continuing assuming such things. Have SIMILAR things been done before? Sure...similar. Yet you claim in the same paragraph that you understand it's custom artwork, produced by a single artist and completely unreproducible by another artist, yet you think the artwork on my body has been done prior to me having it? That's not even possible. Your logic doesn't add up.

"Thriving artistic community" is not a bullshit term which means what you think it does. It's not a term at all...it's a phrase. It might have been a little pretentious of me to say, but it is not bullshit. Yes, they draw better than the average person, but artistic ability does not translate to the ability to tattoo. Generally, it takes a couple of years as an apprentice doing really shitty work, both in form and in style.

And yes, chances are if I asked any of my friends to tattoo a goat on my forehead they would do it. It would be a fun experience for them as they would probably never have the chance to do it again. As for your design...well, not so much. Any number of idiots with printers can walk into a shop with the same thing ten times a day because they think it's cool, and chances are they'd all get turned away because it's BORING FOR THE ARTIST. I don't understand why you don't get this. They won't do anything you tell them to, and if they do, they're either apprentices or miserable artists. Congratulations...yours was probably done by one of the two. Any reputable tattoo artist doesn't NEED the 200 dollars or whatever a customer is paying them to do the work. Let me put it this way...

You and I were fighting for the same scheduled spot in the day for a tattoo. I want a goat tattooed on my forehead, and YOU want an unintelligible black mess tattooed in a sensible boring spot like you shoulder blade or calf. The artist will politely apologize to you and send you on your way because there is nothing fun about shitty tattoos for either party. You then offer the artist 50 more dollars in hopes of changing his/her mind. At that point, the artist will then tell you more harshly that your idea is stupid and he would rather do a tattoo that will be fun, creative, and more enjoyed by all.

I know you think this is a ridiculous scenario, but in any shop where reputable artists work, it is COMMON FUCKING PRACTICE. They don't have bosses and they have nobody to answer to. You can't call their manager because you're mad at them and they WILL PURPOSELY try to hurt your feelings and belittle you because you irritate them.

If you'd like to see samples of many of the pieces of work I have done so you can criticize it or whatever it is you plan on doing, feel free. My work is in various places in various portfolios in these three locations.

Also, if you'd like to continue getting your e-shit ruined, please do it through PM or accept that you might just be wrong on occasion and put me on your ignore list.

If you plan on PMing me, make sure your response is at least 80 percent grammatically correct. I like seeing things like periods and capitalization. I make mistakes too, but when I see a little red line pop up in my text box, I double check it at the very least. Also, please use logic and common sense and perhaps even some personal experience, but don't use ignorant, buzz-word catchphrases like this:

It's not funny, it makes you looked like an idiot, and it doesn't make any sense.

Going to be pretty hypocritical when or if you drink coffee or alcohol (assuming you're not Mormon).

Or a lamba from Half-Life:

I was thinking on something of the lines of this and then it hit me that I had seen these a while back.

I don't think I would have the balls to get them. Possilby the companion cube somewhere on my body where no one can see it (and seeing as I play badminton in shorts and shirts that only leaves my chest, back and...uh... lower back) Although if I could I would probably get something like this.

A friend of mine got the Medic symbol from TF2 tattooed on her wrist, and my boyfriend wants the words 'ludo ergo sum' (loosely, I game therefore I am) somewhere on his body.

If it means a lot to you, man, then do it.

I've considered it before, I thought about either going with the delta symbol or the wrist chains, they're subtle enough that nobody who hasn't played the games would understand them, and they wouldn't be all that hard to explain

I do drink coffee...a lot, but I have never drank alcohol. I'm straightedge and it's something that I'm pretty sure I won't go back on (I'm honestly surprised you commented on THAT and not the fact that I have playstation buttons on my knuckles...funny world eh?). I know caffeine is technically a drug but I mean illicit drugs, and even then I don't take any medication unless I have to (yup, suffer through migraines till they're gone..).

It wasn't a necessary tattoo, but then again, what is? :p
