Where would you get it? For me, it's all about working it in with other stuff, and while I still got a lot of work to be done (it takes several hours and plenty of money), most of my tattoos are gaming related. Here's a lot of them.

Playstation face buttons and d-pad buttons. Call me a fan boy, but I've been with Sony since I was 5 and I don't really know where I'd be without gaming, or Sony for that matter, with me all these years.

Right hand is biohazard symbol from Resident Evil, left hand is cog symbol from Gears of War.

Palm is from the World Ends With You (13:37 since it makes LEET, but also acts as their countdown timer till erasure), right wrist is the great chain from Bioshock (my left wrist was taken, or else I would have done both).

This is sort of gaming related. USB symbols on my thumbs, thumb drives :D

I also have my left arm covered in a sleeve, which is a mix of Resident Evil zombies and the upper is Medusa from greek mythology/God of War. My right sleeve is about to be started and will be a mix of Dead Space necromorphs and Kratos from God of War.

Call it silly or foolish, but I've been gaming for like 17 years, I don't think it's something I'll wake up and find old.
Excellent! A real tribute to a great media!

You know, I've always wanted to get a Triforce tattoo, and have always thought old school game tattoos are awesome. But for some reason, the thought of getting a tattoo about a modern game like Assassin's Creed just seems totally cheesy to me. Old games are classics and are something that somewhat revered, but modern games? I dunno. It feels sort of childish, I guess.

I only thought of this as I really enjoy the story of the first two games. Whether I game in years to come won't matter, as I will have enjoyed the story and that won't change at all.
You are right in saying that oldschool game tats are cool though.

Yes. Yes. A thousand times YES!

Either way, go for it! The Assassin symbol was always badass!

Probably the gaming tattoo I would go for because even if you do stop liking Assassin's Creed in future you can pretty much lie about what it is to your other half etc. "What's that symbol for? Oh this? It means peace...or love or both"

Plus it is just the symbol not the actual game - hard to stop liking a symbol

I love the Assassin's Creed symbol. It's simple and easily recognisable for insiders, yet it's aesthetically pleasing on it's own, without needing the gaming connection. I approve of such designs.

Video-game tattoos are a no-no, just like video-game clothing.
I don't see why. I don't know about the OP, but being a gamer, and a nerd in general, is a very important part of my personality and something I'm proud of. I'd like to express that pride, and especially being pride despite mockery (so my resilience) in a tattoo that's related to the thing I love; gaming, or basically something geeky (I quite fancy the Imperial emblem [http://swgeternity.com/images/250px-imperial_emblem_svg.png] in all it's wonderful simplicity).

If it's just a "this is so cool" teen fad, then I too think it ain't a good idea, but if it means something than it's a different story.

But why game clothing would be a bad idea is a complete riddle to me. I mean, it's just clothing.

The main problem with gaming tattoos, and tattoos based around things in the media in general, is that it all moves so fast, passing fads, the cake is a lie, etc. That getting something as static as a tattoo based on the fast moving, fast changing world of video games strikes me as an easy way to make a bad decision. There are, of course, exceptions to this; mainly retro game inspired tattoos (but how many times are you going to see a pixelly depiction of a mushroom on someones arm before it get boring? (SPOILER: Once))
Then again, I'm one of these crazy people who thinks for a really long time before getting a tattoo. I thought about my first one for nigh on five years and I've been planning my second one since early last year.

Eh, it looks cool, and most people probably won't recognize it as a symbol from a video game (I didn't xP)

Not every tattoo has to have some super deep meaning. Some people like getting tattoos because it looks cool and they think they could stand having it on their body their whole life. If that is the case go for it. It is a neat design.

The only tattoo I have that is gaming related is D&D related.
I've been playing d&d for 20 years mostly with the same group of friends. (Others have come and gone but the core group remains) However it's been dying down in recent years as people started having kids and careers have taken off. (We still try) All of us absolutely Love the [a href=http://eberron.wikia.com/wiki/Eberron_Wiki]Eberron Campaign Setting[/a] So we decided to get Dragonmarks as a group. I am also a detective so I got
'the mark of finding' on my left shoulder'
that would be the third one down
It means more than just the game to me, it means all that time spent with my closest friends.

If anyone was wondering, My twin brother who is ALSO a detective (he investigates sexual crimes) has 'the mark of detection' on his right shoulder
my friend who is now a dentist, who almost always wanted to play the healer, decided to get
the 'mark of healing' on his calf. It turned out pretty good even though he's Wesley Snipes dark.
my friend who is a 1st grade (ages 5-6) teacher decided on the 'mark of handling' on chest. His day does sound like herding animals sometimes. He already has like 30 tattoos so yeah.
My friend who is an accountant decided to get the 'mark of scribing' as a tramp stamp... yes I know we advised her against that location.
my friend who works an office job got the 'mark of shadow' tattooed on his arm (not quite the shoulder) He just liked the shape of it.
my friend who is an engineer decided on the 'mark of making' she has it on her calf.
Lastly my lovely wife got the 'mark of the storm' on her back near her left shoulder. She's also a teacher. She says she chose the storm because she's from France. I think she just liked the design.

I'd be amazed if anyone actually read all of that. FYI everyone got the 'greater' version of their design.

Never get a tattoo based on what other people think you should have, that's just silly it's gonna be with you forever unless you're willing to pay (in money and pain) for the removal... If you're not sure then clearly it's not the right one for you, you need to be sure.

Personally, I considered getting a discrete half life symbol, then I decided not to.

The Assassin's symbol is bad ass, you don't need to know where it's from to think that. I say go for it. :p

The AC logo is a great Idea. Depends where you get it though. I would think of getting it a good size on the shoulder.

I've got a buddy who has the Imperial Eagle from Warhammer 40k tatoo'd on his arm. looks awesome.

I think the trick is to have something that you don't need to "get" the reference to enjoy or think looks cool.

If tattoos didn't prohibit me from teaching, I'd get Scar's full arm alchemical tattoo from Full Metal Alchemist.

I like the wrist chans from Bioshock, I may get that done. I can cover it up too, due to a watch with thick strap on one wrist, and a shitlot of jewelery on the other.

Aside from that, I want a space invader on my ass

Not game related but I have the key to hell tattooed on my left arm. The Key to Hell fron Neil Gaimen's Sandman.

Go for it man. I'm also debating getting the Planescape Symbol of Torment on my shoulder soon.
