I'm really unsure about BC2. The demo was great, but ... I think I'll rent it first.
Metro 2033 both intrigues me and pushes me away. I'll have to track down the book for starters. Once again, however, I think I'll have to rent first.
I might have wanted to get more games for the PC, but my PC is garbage. I'd need to buy a new PC first.
Outside Video Games (blaspheme, I know): L5R is releasing CE15 on March 22, so I need to pick up a starter.
Is the humor still there?
I'd hate it if bc turned into a cod clone.
If it has then metro2033 is my first choice
No story sadly, just some gold ole fashion gold rush.
Medic retains its ability to heal you, or rather make you regenerate health faster. It also now has shock paddles that bring you back to life, so you both A) don't have to wait for the respawn time and B) respawn where you fell, rather than on a squadmate or back at the start of the section. This makes the class even better than it was in the first game because your ally can revive you and your squad can spawn on you, or you can steal a fallen medic kit and heal your comrades.
Assault class has a purpose now, as an ammo dispenser. ARs are still essentially what they were to the last game.
The one shotgun I used didn't seem as game breaking as the South African Pump shotgun from the last game, and thank god for that.
Knifing is still silly. I do like the whole "collecting dog tags" thing and glad to see they kept that.
Other than that; gameplay, as far as I saw, didn't really noticeably change. However, what you're allowed to see in the demo are what guns will be available and what more or less amounts to a perk system. Squad Deathmatch seems like it might be fun. Scratch that, generally I hate deathmatch as a game mode and it'll take a lot of convincing to believe that this will be better in some way. Gold rush is always fun.
CoD clone? No. It lacks that feel at least, what with destructible environments and tanks, and all manner of small things adding up to what made it fun to play online in the first place. It does "borrow", somewhat, from what CoD has found to work though, which might be why I'm hesitant to buy it without renting it first.
I've always liked that spawn system better in BC2 anyway, so I may just trade in MW2. I liked CoD4 better than its successor anyway.
