This topic isn't quite about what I thought it would be. I could generally care less about 'canon', as all the games I'm invested in are standalone, or the protagonists are unrelated, a-la Bioshock or Silent Hill.
The one time I got caught up in the mass of Canon endings was Tekken. You know one of the 3 Mishimas one each of the tournaments, but decifering which Mishima got a bit hairy by the 4th or 5th game.
Somewhat off-topic, but what I intended to post in the thread I thought this would be:
I tend to dislike more than 2 multiple endings. Unless I like a game, I won't beat it more than once. I'd have to really like it to beat it more than twice. So if a game has 7 different endings, I can hardly be troubled to youtube them, let alone beat the game legitimately. I also get a chuckle out of these games that forbid saving near the end (FARCRY3) because they feel themselves above allowing you to reload and watch the other ending right afterwards.
