I found Assassins Creed actually quite dull after the first few missions. But my friends rave about it constantly

Nothing wrong with disliking a popular game (or game series in some posted cases). I for one disliked the Zelda series. I borrowed, played, and beat a couple of the gamecube ones including the remake of Ocarina of Time also I played the old game boy color one. It's a series I tried to get into in the past and just finally gave up on after a few honest attempts to like.

AT FIRST I hated, Bioshock, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Half Life 2, and maybe Borderlands. Now I love them all, well except Borderlands, I dropped it and just can't get back into, but it sits on my shelf in case I ever do. I am am still not huge on Half Life 2, I played it again and I realized why I stopped, I fucking hate the head crabs and zombies, I don't handle horror games well, I know its not horror but it was enough to stop me playing.

Took me 3 trys to get into Bioshock, but once I did I was hooked.

I wanted to like Oblivion, but I realized I had never played an RPG that deep before and was overwhelmed and left it. I came back to it a good few months later in the right frame of mind and loved it.

Same story with Fallout 3, I just was not an rpg fan when it came out, I bought it played it and traded it back in the same day. 8 months later I bought it back again with all the expansions because I realized that this was finally the game I was looking for.

Bought Dragon Age Origins and Awakenings a few months ago, I was sure I was going to love it, guess what, nope :p. Its in a cool down period ill come back to it in a few months and love it hopefully.

I've heard the controls or whatever sucks on a 360.

Played it on PC. Loved ALL. Learning curve can be steep, but you get over it at some point. You can deal with some clunkiness of menus with Mouse/keyboard better here.

As for Bioshock... Played 15 mins. The only thing that came to mind is "What were they smoking?"

Too Human.

Got conned out of 60 bucks by my friend so I could buy it on release day with him.

Don't worry, I got him back with Red Dead Redemption. Don't worry, I'm not comparing the two like that, but he loathed it, and while I still like it, you have to admit, it was far from what it was hyped up to be.

And I was looking forward to the Roaming Multiplayer so much...
Too Human did feel like a bit of a let down and was waaaaaaaaaay to easy and repetitive.. =[

I didn't enjoy ME2 half as much as ME1. Bioware is all about the story and the story of ME2 was just stupid.

Fucking Despise Little big planet with a frigging passion. Who ever made a full game using rag doll engine and physics should be shot. Sack boy is annoying too just bring back crash bandicoot.

Speaking of which Drake's Fortune is the biggest pile of crap I have ever played and as is the sequel. Drake is probably the most irritating character going with his douche baggery along with his over used voice actor who uses the same voice over and over. Also because it is boring and unimaginative and does not know what it wants to be. Does it want to be tomb raider's *****, does it want to be assassin's creed. It just does not know.

Along with my Ps3 onslaught... Heavenly Sword, I am not going to waste much time on it only saying; it is shit and whoever thinks it is a shining gem should continue their daily cleaning of Sony's rectum.

And our most prized goose at the moment, STARCRAFT 2. What a pointless wait for 12 years that was. With characters at some points actually looking like Drainea from WoW. A boring cliche of a story that was predictable from the get go. A lame and unrefined system that again is unimaginative and screams 'we're Blizzard our fanboys are the most deluded out there most of who do not leave the house and we will merely give a graphics update and then make it gold.' The game feels like a rehash of starcraft rather than a successor. Plus the whole you have to be online to play single player &*&^ off. This it seems will be put into diablo 3 so yay I am buzzing with excitement.

LittleBigPlanet.
The levels are ok but that is all I can really say. The level-creation system is a bit crap, you really have to wade knee-deep in shit to find decent levels made by other people and I find the controls to be slippery.
Also, getting through to the near-end of a balls-hard level, die 5 times, CONGRATULATIONS! do the entire level all over again.

Not the WORST game ever, but upon story completion I've never picked it up again.

I just couldn't get into Oblivion - and it has everything a game should have that I should love.

Modern Warfare 2 - I loved CoD4, and all the incarnations of CoD before 4.

Halo 2 & 3 - I really enjoyed the first game, but these ones just felt contrived (the feeling I got when I watched my friends played it).

Call of Duty

the first one i got, CoD4 MW, i completed the story in about 4 hours, and the multiplayer was dull, in the end i traded it for fable 2
WaW i did enjoy, but every time i went online, i was swamped in hundreds of messages asking if i wanted to play nazi zombies, and they released so many map packs at once, it was impossible to get online, because if you didn't have the map pack, you got thrown out of the lobby
MW2. i will admit, i enjoy the multiplayer, but the story is cock, the multiplayer gets tedious and what else? oh yes. NOBODY WILL SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT! seriously, at school you cant go anywhere without hearing mention of MW2. "popular" people turn into nerds over the fucking thing.

GTA IV

this one is fairly simple, GTA is supposed to be fucking insane, but this one, even with cheats is dull. it looks shit, the story is dull, short answer? buy Saints Row 2. that is fucking mental.

Half Life 2 onwards
The only reason i dont say Half Life 1 is because i never played it, but so many people say that the game has intricate plot, fully developed characters and emotional moments. No, No and No
don't get me wrong, the game is good, but it doesn't have any of those things people say
First of, intricate plot? maybe it's because i didn't play the original, but the only plot i see is, something or other is oppressing you and some other humans, and if that wasn't irritating enough, zombies attack you constantly.
Fully Developed characters? FUCK NO! for starters, all the characters treat Gordon "player name" Freeman like he's a conveniently placed tool. Need to kill Headcrabs? iGordon has an app for that! Alyx is a *****, she may look and sound nice but she is a *****. i remember playing the hospital scene (cliche zombie moment much?) and getting to a hole in the ground, and hearing alyx say "after you gordon" i remember being very annoyed. "*****, there is no reason you cant go down there, now get your ass down there before i pimp slap you back to christmas!" Gordon himself is useless to the plot. (besides causing the zombie attacks) next time you play it, notice how he is never in any cutscenes, and only comes into a decent conversation when he is needed for something.
Emotional? Put it this way, in HL2 episode 2, i celebrated when alyx died
though i did like how gordon never talks, it meant any time i had an opinion on something, i could say it myself. i dont care if the game cant hear me, i wanted my opinion. the AI is fucking retarded too. in HL2 you have control of an army of antlions. its fucking awesome because there is an unlimited supply of the little bastards and you can tell the suckers to go banzai the crap out of everything they see. FUN! as soon as you control human AI, the game becomes frustrating. There is always one person in your squad who is so close behind you, if you go into a small room, you get locked in because the fucker wont move, medics only heal you to 80/100 health? why? you could easily get me to 100 you twat, if you throw a grenade and one of your guys happens to be near it, does he move? nope. stupid twat just dies, and NONE OF THE FRIENDLY AI ATTACKS DO ANY FUCKING DAMAGE (main characters not included) or at least if they do, you cant tell because they die in about 15 fucking seconds

On a slightly related note, there is a Film lots of people love, which i don't

Dragon Age: Origins.

It was supposed to be the new Neverwinter Nights, the next-gen iteration of Baldur's Gate. The pinnacle of 'traditional' western RPGs.

Yet I found it cliche, the content boring, most of the NPCs utterly predictable, combat unintuitive and lacking depth and the gameworld generic and uninteresting.

I barely managed to garner the will to play it trough even once. A second playtrough, ever, will not happen.

And I'm the guy who loves RPGs of all kinds.
This is pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I was also going to add broken soundtrack and so much dialogue I thought it was written by Woody Allen. It is a good game, just hard to get through. I actually felt the same way about ME. I guess it's Bioware's style now.
Too bad, I liked their older games but Bethesda seems to be making my favorite RPGs this generation.
