Back in the day things were better. At least thats I have been told. I honestly was not around back in the day and only caught the second half of the 16 bit era. Everyone has a favorite time though, whats yers'?

Toss up between this and last generation. There are so many awesome games that last generation gave us which I adore, but equally this generation isn't even over and there are numerous games which I love. I refuse to pick. :D

Whatever generation it was where I actually had time to play video games. What's the point of having a shiny new PS3 if I have no opportunities to use it? I miss my N64.

I started in the N64, Saturn, Playstation (Playstation a few years after launch) but I rarely gamed.

Then I got a PS2 and that was the birth of the gamer within me.

However, only this generation has unleashed the gamer within me and has gotten me actively engaged in the video game world.

But it is a toss up between my birthright and my homeright. Decisions decisions.

I guess I am the only one who enjoyed or maybe even remembers the Master System. How old are all of you here? Anyway, I never saw the difference between the master system and the genesis. I was always a SEGA fan, but really the difference between the 2 was so small. Don't get me wrong I owned all of them. But the Master System just brings back a lot of memories.

No to mention the NES vs. Master System brought the game wars to my attention.

I voted for Snes era, but it's really a toss up between that and N64 times.

I went for Gamecube, Xbox, PS2 beacause its when halo came out. I know the last two weren't as good. But, CE was good. Dont start any flame wars over it though

I remember the master system, I'm 23 and owned that and the NES. I played the NES way more then the mastersystem though. I don't know why but the master system felt clunky, kind of like the sega game gear handheld. The genesis was alot more responsive, had the comfortable 6 button controller. It also had much better games for it and is the generation I voted for.

I do however enjoy and own most consoles from every generation, just the genesis was probably the first that got me away from the computer.

The current generationi is my favorite because it has Braid, Super Mario Galaxy Oblivion, Fully downloadable games are now available via steam and the online market places each home console. The technology necessary to exise the middle man is finally in place.

Wait, where's the Dreamcast disappeared off to?
I'm assuming that one was left out on purpose otherwise the poll would of been pointless.

I voted for the current generation. Games are so expansive now, and can really pull you into a storyline for a long time (and often a storyline you make looking like whatever you want to look like). It's also easier than ever to access older or casual games, not to mention you can play multiplayer with the click of an button.

This is the first generation, really, where I've had to make an active choice in my console-buying, and I found that there's just so much more out there now. And if you don't like that, all the old stuff's available too!

No Atari Jaguar? Hey... guys?

Seriously, nostalgia aside, this is the greatest console generation in every conceivable way. Even without Shadow of the Collossus. (There's still time.)

N64 era for sure. That was when i was in primary school.
As cool as games are now nothing will ever top moments such as;

-the first level of shadows of the empire (whole game was good)
-playing Goldeneye (especially the Frigate level / Multiplayer)
-Perfect Dark (still my no.1 game of all time)
-Mario Party (great times)
-Mario Tennis
-Battle Mode in Mario Kart
-Rainbow 6 (loved that game)
-Rouge squadron
-Smash Bro's
-Mission Impossible game
-WCW/NWO revenge (all because of the royal rumble) + WWF No Mercy (those games made wrestling fun)

As good as games are today, nothing can beat those grea days
