I choose option 1.5. I do care about grammar on forums, and I always make a conscientious effort to reread my posts and make sure they make sense before clicking the post button. However, I feel that if I can tell by reading your post that you at least tried to keep in mind the rules of the proper English language, then I'm fine if you have a few errors. My rule of thumb 90% of the time is the letter i. If you capitalize the pronoun "I", and spell "you" instead of "u", then I'm a happy camper, even if your knowledge of subject verb agreement and contractions is found wanting (I myself am guilty of this quite often).

In a nutshell, just try to show some respect to the English language, and I'm more or less a content individual and will not quote and correct you like some people on here.

If you don't take the time to make your post legible, I'm not taking the time to read it. It's always good to remember that at least most of these "highly artificial" language rules exist for a reason...

That said, I don't mind if you misspell one word (although with firefox's inbuilt spellchecker, you really have no reason to) or forget to capitalize one word. But if you start replacing "you" for "u", mixing up "your" and "you're", using Z as an S, and other such absurdly basic stuff, I'm going to place you neatly in a list of people "whose posts I should never bother to read".

I don't mind the occasional spelling mistake,it's the searchbar nazis who are more of a pain.

It's only really bad if you can't understand what they are saying. For instance you ever heard of "They need to do way instain mother?"

...I can barely make out what they're saying. It messes up any response someone might have.
