Didn't like the NES version because you had to take the cartridge out of the system and blow it out everytime you wanted to play it, and even that wasn't sure to work everytime.

Wind Waker because the graphics were so immersive I actually wanted to play through it again like the game does.
are you insane? Windwaker is so terrible that thinking of purchasing it is wrong.

the best one i have played/seen played on the poll is Twilight Princess

Original Zelda on the NES. Still play it. Wind Waker would be my second pick even if it does have f*cking Tingle in it.

Gotta be a sheep and go with OoT. It had all the elements to not just make it the greatest Zelda game but THE greatest game of all time. That being said, my FAVORITE is MM because that holds a greater place in my heart. I got my first copy of OoT at like 8 and beat it before I turned 10. But I remember the drooling, the waiting, the anticipation to get my hands on more of that same Japanese goodness. I also remember going to Toys 'R' Us and buying a brand new copy(with the expansion thingy that was so contreversial, I was 11, not retarded) and being immersed all over again. So looking back at it now it's Nostalgia of nostalgia. Plus the aspects of transormation, the Groundhog Day with swords-ee-ness(?), and the darker more offbeat story make Majora's Mask my favorite.

Kudos to you voters for making Majora second. I always thought I was a minority liking Majora best.

I went with Link to the Past - it was the first Zelda game that I played and therefore I guess the most memorable.

Close second would be Ocarina of Time. :)

My favorite is Wind Waker because I liked the visual quality and music in the game because it felt calming to just explore the islands while the island music was playing in the background and I think that Toon Link is one of my favorite incarnations of Link. I mean Dragon Roost Island was one of the best songs I heard in a Zelda game execpt for maybe Dark World in Link's Awakening which was really good too.

Although, I didn't like the sequel to the game, Phantom Hourglass because they decided to make you have another fairy in the game which can be anoying because I didn't like Navi in Orcarina of Time and I don't want one to acompany me now. Plus you have to go through the Temple of the Ocean King like 6 times and when you finally get to the final boss you have to draw an hourgalss figure on the touch screen while you're still moving to stop time and its awkward as hell to execute.

To be honest, My favorite was Windwaker. I loved it so much. The sailing, the graphics, the music was all so great.

Ocarina of time always wins these. I vote for a LttP though. Also, this thread makes me think of a bunch of Links fighting and a voice saying "There can be only one!"

Oracle of Ages. It had the best gimmick mechanic, and it had better gameplay than OoT. Personally, I think Nintendo should've waited until they could do 3D right before they launched their first non-2D system, just like they waited until they were ready to release the SNES. Ocarina of Time looked terrible, even at the time, and I was never too fond of the controls, or the awful camera.

Ugh, I find it difficult to believe that people liked Windwaker. The graphics annoyed me, the story line was terrible and basically scrapped as canon material, and it takes free-form a little too far with the sailing around stuff.

I also reject OoT as best, though it comes in at second best. I have to stand up strongly for Link to the Past. Snes was the height of gaming, LttP being no exception.

Ug, Once again we have another "Best Zelda game" poll .... And whats worse is that this is not the first time I have seen the ORIGINAL left out. I refuse to vote in a "Best" type poll when the original isnt a choice. Why do people do this? The original should ALWAYS be an option no matter what! And Whats with the "Adventures of Link (Original NES versionS)?? Unless they made more than one that I somehow didnt know about I would assume u thought the first Zelda game was called Adventures of Link which REALLY makes me mad .... Someone posting a poll about a subject better damn well know about the original ..... Anyway, Next time be sure and add the original!

MM was better then OoT because it doesn't feel like a remake like OoT. I love OoT but it feels like a remake to LttP. *holds up a flame shield*

Ocarina of Time, followed by Wind Waker, then by MAjora's Mask.

The others, in my opinion, were just guys trying to cash in on a winning formula. These three games made their OWN winning formulas.

How can you say that when Link to the Past set the formula seven years before OoT?

Ocarina of Time you could do nothing to story just upgrade the graphics and make it Wii compatible and they could re-sell the game EZ.
