well... lets just say im VERY glad the elder scrolls games dont have kids in them. but murdering children in bioshock? yeah, why not? child soldiers trying to kill you in africa; i see no problem with that being included in a game. and people trying to criticize it: "OUR CHILDREN ARE GOING TO DO DRUGS, FLY TO AFRICA, AND START SHOOTING EACH OTHER IF THEY PLAY THIS GAME!"
i do however have a problem with developers using children as tear jerkers, im fucking tired of it, i honestly dont care if NPC#9807431534's kid died. that does not make me empathize with the character, it makes me want to call the cliche police on the writers. i think kids in video games should be used responsibly, like elderly mentors and people with red shirts. the protagonists parents are killed in front of them as a child, again, i call the cliche police, who in turn call in the national cliche guard.
as for women in games... do not belong in games about the crusades, but "OMG THAT SPACE MARINE I JUST KILLED HAD BOOBS! WRONG! EVIL EVIL! but those other 5 didnt, so that was ok" if you think like that, please kill yourself. twice if possible.
either way though, something like a real war where everyone COULD be shooting at you might make a good scary game. i know ide play.
